The Pricing Senior Specialist is responsible for supporting the Pricing Team to enable pricing that achieves the strategic and financial goals of a group of categories. The Pricing Specialist will ensure that pricing data, rulesets, and tools function smoothly and efficiently.
More specifically, the Pricing Senior Specialist will work directly with Pricing Analysts to maintain pricing data, create and maintain pricing rules, create draft pricing recommendations, and execute agreed-upon pricing workflows to maintain rules-based prices. The Pricing Specialist will use tools such as Everclear, PriceStrat, SQL, Alteryx, Excel, Tableau, and PowerPoint while supporting the work of the team.
Hourly Pricing Specialists receive 124 PTO hours (15.5 days), Medical/Dental/Vision benefits, and a 20% employee discount (applicable at all Whole Foods locations).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Data Management:
    • Support the Pricing Team by maintaining critical pricing data elements like pricing lines, custom item pricing groups, category rulesets, and schedules.
    • Gather pricing questions or recommendations from existing feedback systems. Route questions to decision makers to ensure timely resolution.
  • Pricing Execution:
    • Run agreed-upon pricing workflows to execute rules-based pricing for markdowns or standard pre-execution audits.
  • Ongoing Price Management:
    • Create draft pricing recommendations for a group of categories using existing team tools
    • Run agreed-upon reporting and metrics to support execution and tracking of pricing activities
    • Help build data and evidence that supports pricing rules
  • Additional duties as assigned or required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Exceptional teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Strong work ethic complemented with a positive, can-do attitude

PREFERRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Analytical Business Specialty, or commensurate retail experience preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in retail, analysis, and/or pricing preferred
  • Experience with Alteryx, SQL and database reporting preferred
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal desired
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills desired
