Responsible for deriving data-driven, actionable insights that contribute to the overall productivity of Whole Foods stores. Supports
Merchandising strategic planning and direction setting by ensuring the best analytical practices and techniques are used to provide
recommendations that improve promotional performance at WFM. Drives sales and operational efficiencies through effective evaluation of
promotion and merchandising performance. Contributes to analysis and development of improvement recommendations for space and
assortment planning, space management, and related processes in support of various Merchandising and Marketing initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Collects, consolidates, and inputs data, manually and electronically, into appropriate data systems
  • Creates and supports mechanisms allowing users to submit questions and issues, as well as track their resolution through an automated workflow
  • Analyzes requests to decide how then should be prioritized and allocated, interfacing with requestors as required to obtain additional information and clarification
  • Directs requests to the appropriate team and contact for follow up as needed, from beginning through completion
  • Accesses data systems to collect specific information, run reports and otherwise support assigned Merchandising Analysts
  • Further supports Analysts by:
    • Preparing presentations,
    • Providing data for reports,
    • Preparing slides, charts, and graphs
  • Provides team assistance by:
    • Meeting and greeting office visitors,
    • Arranging meetings and conferences,
    • Coordinating schedules and calendars,
    • Arranging travel as required,
    • Supporting meeting and conference logistics needs
  • Creates and publishes communication to educate category management teams on common questions and issues

Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and internal data management systems
  • Ability to identify and correct moderately complex data integrity issues
  • Ability to prepare moderately complex data and related reports
  • Ability to research and solve moderately difficult problems involving data integrity, data reporting and data management systems
  • Ability to perform business math
  • Able to build win-win partnerships with other teams at the Global and Regional level, with stores and with suppliers
  • Models excellent customer service skills
  • Work priorities are set according to pre-determined deadlines
  • Applies knowledge and experience to organize and complete assignments
  • Solves problems using well-understood methods and technologies, refers complex or sensitive issues to higher levels
  • Works on assignments that are semi-routine or moderately complex in nature, recognizing the need for occasional deviation from standard practice
  • Follows standard data and situational analysis practices and procedures
  • Evaluates and resolves issues using knowledge of what information to collect and where to find it
  • Understands the WFM organizational structure, associated hierarchy, and approval levels
  • Understands the types and timing of various departmental deadlines and events
  • Understands how the specialist role contributes to and facilitates Team Member, team, Team Leader, and business success

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma and 2-4 years’ relevant experience
  • Associates degree, technical college or some college course work preferred
