The Opportunity:

HomeAway is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst, to support our global retail organization and be part of our commercial finance team. This team is a part of the global Financial Planning & Analysis organization. This role reports to the Director of Commercial Finance based in Austin. Commercial Finance’s is in charge to provide a common language and data driven hypotheses, which can be validated through a test and learn approach to enable extraordinary analytical insights, influencing faster and better business decisions.

Experience:

• Ability to understand and connect business concepts directly to their financial impacts
• Advanced experience building financial models, product scorecards and prioritization frameworks with consensus from the business
• Teamwork with business divisions and sales teams with the aptitude to understand and demonstrate business drivers to influence decisions
• Ability to operate independently with proven judgement
• Exceptional communication skills with experience presenting to and working with executive level leaders; ability to influence staff, peers, and senior team members

You are comfortable with working and influencing in an ambitious organization where processes are not always well-defined due to the fast-paced business environment which requires agility. Despite the pace,this person needs to lead process, automation, scale and predictability in the solutions they drive. You will know how to analyze data to uncover trends and report on progress against critical deliverables. Leading multiple priorities and the interests of multiple stake holders is a requirement. This person is effective working cross functionally, driving the business strategically and improving productivity and efficiency by connecting the dots across the functions of the team and business.

Responsibilities:

• Influence across the FP&A team to craft validated relationships with colleagues and engage in local operating models, processes and procedures; identify, analyze and communicate current global trends and their impact on forward-looking financial forecasts
• Drive efficiencies in the Commercial Finance organization by identifying process deficiencies, offering viable and scalable solutions and driving cross-departmental collaboration to implement those solutions
• Build and maintain models, metrics reporting and business scorecards in support of close and forecast activities; performing variance analysis of business results
• Executive management support including preparation of business presentations while maintain relationships with business partners; providing supporting analytics and business insights

Required Qualifications:

• 10+Years of experience in financial analysis with growing responsibility and complexity
• Extraordinary verbal and written communication and time management skills for working globally and achieving multiple priorities on time with accuracy
• Strong drive for results including initiative necessary to anticipate, recognize and tackle challenges and issues as they arise
• Validated experience analyzing large volumes of data with an ability to synthesize it into trends, actionable recommendations and executive presentations
• Experience combining advanced Excel and modeling skills to craft flexible modeling tools that drive forecasts and quality analytics. OLAP based financial planning software experience such as Hyperion, Adaptive Planning, Cognos a plus
