Our goal is to develop a highly functioning team of Business Unit and Functional financial experts who provide rigorous financial advice, contextualized by our company strategies, to all corners of our company. Beyond reporting and number aggregation, FP&A team members will deep-dive into model building and value-driving analytics, craft the story that is embedded in the numbers, and be the financial advisor for our business partners. You will have the opportunity to develop your qualitative and quantitative skill sets and will be given corresponding responsibilities as you grow.
Realtor.com’s Corporate FP&A team is looking for a Senior FP&A Analyst, reporting to the Manager of Corporate FP&A. The analyst will partner with finance and non-finance stakeholders across all major functions of the company and will support business and finance leaders through reporting, variance analysis and forecasting of expenses and company level revenue and margin. The ideal candidate will collaborate with our Accounting team during month-end close periods, guide our forecast processes, work closely with our Business Partners, and will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to the implementation of a new forecasting tool.
The right individual will have a detail-oriented mindset with experience in FP&A and will be comfortable working with large or incomplete data sets from disparate systems. The candidate should have a willingness to assume responsibility for a broad range of evolving priorities in a fast-paced environment, a strong analytic foundation within a finance-oriented role and be well organized.
What you’ll do:
Drive effective communication and alignment with business partners, internally within Finance, our C-suite/Executive team, and with News Corp, our parent company
Develop and drive the Close, Forecast, and Budget, and identify risks and opportunities for regular monthly deliverables
Generate insights and recommendations based on the analysis of key performance indicators, revenue, and operating expenses
Evolve the current reporting processes by challenging the status quo and figuring out how to maximize the use of all our technologies (Adaptive, Oracle, Tableau, Snowflake)
Synthesize information and develop compelling, data-driven presentations for senior leadership and News Corp
Work with senior levels of the business to make trade-off decisions regarding headcount resourcing and support levels
Support headcount and position management for other FP&A team members to deliver to business partner
Provide variance analysis and presentations for the monthly and quarterly reviews to the company’s leaders
Prepare the submission of month end financials and forecasts to News Corp
What you’ll bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or Finance
5+ years related experience in finance and financial analysis roles (FP&A roles that support complex modeling, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting of business impacts / trends preferred) preferably at a high growth company
Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear and concise analysis in both written and verbal form to audiences at all levels of the organization
Technically savvy, able to quickly learn new systems, self-serve, drive automation in reporting and data preparation
Self-starter and active listener with a keen interest in and commitment to personal growth and continuous learning
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and collaborate on projects
Good understanding of accounting processes, procedure, and internal controls
Strong interpersonal skills; confident in helping business leaders find answers
Flexible and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Experience with Adaptive or comparable financial planning tool a plus (not necessary)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and G Suite tools
