What we’re looking for, in a nutshell:

Amherst is pleased to offer this tremendous opportunity. This position, seeks a candidate capable of managing financial systems for a multi-billion dollar company in the Real Estate Finance industry. This position will frequently interact with C-level executives and key business stakeholders to define strategies and goals. Strong attention to projects, deadlines and execution are essential. The ideal candidate should have deep understanding of financial technology systems, and be able to effectively lead technology teams.
The Senior Vice President, Financial Systems will have company-wide responsibility for architecting financial, loan servicing, budgeting, and accounting reporting systems that will derive insights in real time for executive decision making critical to the success of each business unit. This position will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer.

 

A little more about this role:

  • Set and execute timely project deliverables that meet business expectations
  • Lead implementations of company financial systems due to changing business landscape, acquisitions or startup initiatives
  • Manage company support including system reliability and disaster recovery for global finance and reporting systems
  • Evaluate business processes and identify weaknesses, and areas for improvement
  • Implement initiatives to increase efficiency
  • Provide leadership that adheres to Company culture and standards that values teamwork, innovation, and customer service 

What you’ll need to have:

  • Technology, Finance or Accounting Executive with expert knowledge of integrating complex finance and accounting departments with multiple entities utilizing multiple internal or external technology platforms
  • Possess a savvy business acumen
  • Strong analytical and organizational project management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
  • Strong technology background with solid understanding of the SDLC
  • Detailed understanding of SOX and SOC compliance requirements
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts across multiple departments and business units
  • Ability to identify, document, and track issues and risk management functions
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Minimum 10 years of financial systems experience and technology teams
  • Experience with SOX and SOC compliance requirements
  • Ability to effectively interface with Senior Finance leaders
  • Ability to deliver large IT projects successfully
  • Detail oriented and skilled at defining customer requirements
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong ability to handle multiple large projects in a fast paced environment
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Finance or Accounting, MBA preferred
