Technical Accountant
Q2 Software is seeking a Technical Accountant. This position will be involved in a broad range of accounting areas, including assisting in the financial reporting function, technical accounting research, support of M&A, and other significant transactions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with preparation and filing of SEC reports including 10-Q/Ks, 8-Ks and Proxies, financial audit support preparation
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly financial presentations for senior leadership, audit committee and other external parties including supporting Investor Relations and the quarterly earnings release process
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements including the statement of cash flows, and month end journal entries and account reconciliations
- Prepare memos and documentation analyzing the application of GAAP to non-routine transactions
- Identify process improvements and redesign work; plan, document and execute plan to simplify financial reporting processes
- Research and monitor new GAAP pronouncements and analyze their impact to Q2 as it relates to reporting and consolidating to ensure compliance with new accounting guidance
- Prepares quarterly debt compliance calculations and supporting workpapers as needed
- Participate in special projects by providing project management support and technical accounting research, which may include business combinations, treasury analysis and modeling, impairment review, ASC 606 expertise, and accounting systems implementations
- Execute and monitor internal controls around financial reporting functions
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience, Masters preferred
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of related industry experience, including Public Accounting experience
- CPA preferred or working towards obtaining certification
- Thorough knowledge and application of GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.
- Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel knowledge (financial modeling experience)
- Audit & SEC reporting experience a must
- Software/Software as a Service industry accounting experience a plus
- NetSuite, Oracle PBCS / NSPB and Auditboard experience a plus
- Ability to operate independently with minimal upfront instruction and take ownership of work product; driven, diligent, and self-motivated
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and meet assigned deadlines
- Excellent communication skills with a customer service focus
- Trustworthy and discreet with confidential financial and employee data
