The platform provides free ad-supported streaming TV businesses through its proprietary technology and content delivering an unparalleled experience for businesses and advertisers. The platform also provides a paid upgrade to a digital signage feature for businesses to run their house promotions within the content. Atmosphere was incubated under Chive Media Group, as Chive TV, and spun out in 2019. Atmosphere has raised $45M in capital since its spin out and is accelerating the growth of its team, distribution network, technology and content.
THE ROLE:
We are looking for a VP of Accounting and Administration to join our fast growing, dynamic company. The VP of Accounting and Administration will serve as a trusted partner to the CFO and support our growth and strategy. The primary responsibilities include the build out of systems, processes and an accounting team that oversees financial reporting. The VP of Accounting and Administration will set key policies and provide leadership in scaling our financial infrastructure to support Atmosphere’s high-growth journey.
JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Oversee accounting operations, general ledger and financial reporting, treasury management, tax and internal controls
  • Accountable for quality and timeliness of financial reporting
  • Partner with executive teams to implement appropriate accounting strategies and structures for growth
  • Ensure company compliance with GAAP, federal, state, and local tax requirements
  • Establish, foster and maintain relationship with outside accounting firms including coordination of all financial review, audit, and tax compliance work
  • Oversee internal risk assessment by identifying critical processes and key controls, ensure adequate scope, documentation, training of control owners, and testing
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders on risk management, real estate, contracts management, EIRSA compliance and other administrative tasks closely tied to accounting and operations
  • Determine accounting and tax implications for all material business decisions
  • Provide effective leadership overseeing multiple teams, hire and train top talent and maintain positive culture

ABOUT YOU:
You love a good challenge and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You have proven experience in building and developing a team, designing efficient processes, and maintaining day-to-day operations of an accounting department. You are comfortable at a hyper-growth company where things evolve quickly. You’re a leader who can operate at a high-level as well as deep in the details.
Must live in Austin, TX or the surrounding area.
REQUIREMENTS:

  • 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role, with experience building and/or leading a team, including experience in a rapid growth, public company 
  • 5+ year experience managing the SEC reporting functions at a rapid growth and/or public company
  • CPA certification
  • Deep understanding of GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley Act, and PCAOB auditing standards, and experience using auditing and assessment frameworks and the application of the related professional standards 
  • Demonstrated ability in building teams
  • Experience within a transforming business at scale, ideally in a fast growth company
  • Excellent project management and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proven leadership, personal integrity and charisma to build consensus with colleagues
  • Someone who leads by example and drives performance with an aim of continuous improvement
  • Capable of working at both 5 feet and 50,000 feet
  • A bias towards action
