About the opportunity
The Director, Tech Recruiting will own the technical recruiting strategy and execution across R&D hiring as we hyperscale here at Ontra. You will manage several full-cycle tech recruiters and be responsible for hiring additional team members and enabling them to successfully execute against the company’s hiring goals. You will be the primary talent partner to the senior leaders of our R&D org and will regularly meet with them to understand, address, and anticipate their hiring needs. As part of our interview process you will meet with key R&D stakeholders including our VP of Product and VP of Engineering. The Director, Tech Recruiting will report directly to the VP of Talent, and we are open to great candidates across the U.S.*
What you’ll do
- Management: Build and lead a technical recruiting organization to ensure exceptional execution and achievement of hiring goals, expansion of recruiting expertise, and professional development for each recruiter
- Strategy: Originate, implement, and build upon creative and scalable recruiting strategies that attract quality diverse talent
- Iteration: Develop the technical recruiting function to efficiently handle hiring goals and adapt as needed for the fast-paced competitive landscape of top talent
- Data utilization: Create regular reporting and analyze data to drive process efficiencies and inform strategic decision making to scale hiring and team operating models
- Cross-functional partnership: Work together with hiring managers and senior engineering leaders to understand objectives and develop plans to achieve headcount goals
- Brand: Partner with our Talent Brand Senior Manager, Marketing, and People to develop and promote our employer brand in the tech community (including events, conferences, blogs, etc.)
- Company education: Represent the Talent team in regularly presenting to the leadership team and greater company at all hands meetings; keep the company engaged with hiring and invite them into the process
What you’ll bring
- Experience: 8+ years of experience with in-house recruiting at a scaling tech company
- Project management: Ability to oversee and lead a group of full-cycle tech recruiters throughout multiple recruiting campaigns and projects
- Execution: Ability to take ideas and quickly put them into action
- Growth mindset: You find this hyperscaling environment exciting and are motivated by the opportunity to be more efficient in our recruiting practices
- Collaboration: Ability to work with stakeholders across the organization to ensure all functions are working in sync to achieve recruitment and company goals
- Data-driven: You know how to use data to make informed recruiting decisions
