Our HR Department is looking for a Manager of Learning & Development. You will work to implement a comprehensive learning strategy that aims to engage and retain our staff. This strategy should include creating, updating, and personalizing a training roadmap that includes new resources, eLearning, classroom training and other professional development resources aligned with the needs of the business and our employees.

In this role, you should be passionate about helping people learn and grow. Excellent communication skills are essential.

This position reports to the Head of Human Resources and will located in our Austin, TX office.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and execution of overall business strategy by helping the HR team identify, prioritize, and build talent capabilities
  • Design, develop, and implement innovative, programs to drive engagement and development of talent across the organization
  • Implement and administer a new Learning Management System
  • Lead internal training sessions and facilitate sessions in partnership with other instructors
  • Work closely with our learning solutions team to understand portfolio-wide training offerings, identify any gaps in learning, and share internal best practices
  • Create and deliver training dashboards and reports to evaluate the effectiveness of the programs and understand ROI
  • Design, develop, coordinate, administer, facilitate and deliver company-wide training programs to include new hire orientation, management training, and professional development based on the needs and requests of the business and our employees
  • Work closely with business leaders and managers across all functions to identify training requirements, priorities, goals and objectives that are aligned with the business strategy
  • Conduct needs assessments to determine training needs and/or performance gaps. Assess the wants of our employees and deliver development programs that will optimize their engagement, performance, and retention
  • Establish a personal strategy, plan, and budget required to successfully achieve company training objectives. Refine that strategy based on input from leaders and employees
  • Manage the configuration, design, content, and administration of Vista's on-line learning management system
  • Design and implement successful programs to identify top tier talent and link employee development plans to company growth and staffing requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Learning and Development or Human Resources Management; or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Learning & Development or Training required
  • A minimum of 3 years previous L&D or training manager experience is required
  • Demonstrated experience using and administering a Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theory, e-Learning courses
  • Demonstrated project management and facilitation skills
  • Ability to lead others in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to build rapport with employees and vendors
  • Professional certification (e.g. CPLP) is a plus
