Payroll Manager
The Payroll Manager is responsible for all elements of timely preparation and accurate processing of SailPoint’s bi-monthly payroll. The Payroll Manager role implements payroll initiatives and projects which requires strong technical and communication skills and the ability to simultaneously manage tasks to meet SailPoint’s standards and deadlines. The Payroll Manager will partner with various departments including Accounting, Human Resources and Benefits to achieve these goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute timely and accurate processing of bi-monthly payroll for 1,000+ employees via Workday
- Analyze, prepare and input necessary data (timesheets, OT, expenses, commissions, bonuses, option exercises and RSU vesting, etc.)
- Process off-cycle payroll as required
- Review quarterly/annual payroll tax reports and W2s
- Communicate with third party payroll processor
- Ensure all local, state and federal governmental requirements are met, such as taxes and withholdings
- Implement new regulations and policies and changes to benefits as applicable to payroll
- Work closely with all departments to ensure accuracy in employee pay and financial reporting
- Recommend and implement efficiencies to improve payroll processing and employee satisfaction
- Respond timely to payroll requests and resolve employee issues
- Drive process improvement and automation efforts to streamline payroll operations
- Ensure continuous development of payroll policies and standard operating procedures
- Ability to lead and develop a team
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 8+ years of progressive experience processing and managing multi-state payrolls
- Experience with Workday Payroll preferred
- Excellent skills in MS office with high proficiency in Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to clearly and effectively communicate information to internal and external audiences
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to handle a high volume of data with confidentiality, accuracy and discretion
- Ability to train and develop employees
