As the People Operations & Payroll Specialist, you will be part of the People (HR & Administration) team focused on supporting our Contact Center and Policy Sales departments. You will be responsible for managing facets of the onboarding process including working within directly with new hires. The People team are the gears that keep the AWL machine on track. Our team strives to catch glitches before they become problems and we delight in being more proactive than reactive.

Your day-to-day

  • Ability to work in-office at our Austin location after resolution of COVID-19 Pandemic.
  • Primary Human Resources contact for employee questions related to benefits and policy.
  • Point person for benefits administration in collaboration with ADP.
  • Manage onboarding for STAMF roles including new hire orientations, hiring documents and background screenings.
  • Full administration of people systems.
  • Administration of payroll processes including personnel changes, benefits, reimbursements, and incentive pay.
  • Track and administer leaves of absence (FMLA and non-FMLA).
  • Proactively and autonomously manage documentation for handbook, policies, and procedures.
  • Support and audit CC & PsaaS onboarding to ensure compliance.
  • Provide support to the People and Recruiting teams, as well as other management staff as required while exercising discretion due to access of highly confidential information.

To be successful on the People Team at AWL, you need

  • 1-2 years of Human Resources experience.
  • Experience working with payroll software (ADP as a PEO).
  • To be comfortable communicating over several platforms and have outstanding written and verbal skills.
  • Proven skills in applications and programs, particularly Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook.
  • The ability to work in an open team environment, employing a collaborative continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to drive initiatives from inception to completion.
  • Ability to remain organized and maintain accuracy in an ever-changing environment.
  • Strong time management skills and proven ability to multi-task, efficiently prioritize tasks, and drive projects to completion.
  • Willingness to pitch in and assist with other projects and share responsibilities, as needs arise.
  • To be a self-motivated individual with strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week.
