Senior Payroll Specialist

What You'll Do:
The Senior Payroll Specialist is a member of the Company's Finance and Accounting team and will report to the Controller. In this role, you will work closely with our accounting and human resources teams to process payroll timely and accurately in a US multi-state environment. Additionally, you will support the timely processing of the Company's accounts payable and expense reports.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in the day-to-day activities of the Company's accounting operations, with a primary focus on payroll, accounts payable, and expense report processing.
- Preparation and processing of semi-monthly payroll including employee data maintenance, deduction and bonus processing, tax jurisdiction compliance, etc within Paycor.
- Maintain accuracy and resolve problems associated with benefits, W-2s, unemployment and withholding tax.
- Update company general ledger with payroll and accounts payable related journal entries
- Review, audit and process expense reports to ensure expenses are approved and reimbursed in line with company policy.
- Responsible for maintaining accounts payable records, processing of vendor invoices and routing to appropriate personnel for approvals.
- Investigate and resolve issues associated with processing invoices.
- Maintain copies of invoices, credit card receipts, and requisite tax information (e.g. vendor W-9s) in an organized and easy to find manner
- Support internal and external audit requirements.
- Assist with other projects on an as needed basis.
What You'll Need:
Minimum Requirements (Education, certifications and experience):
- 4+ years of experience processing Payroll
- Experience managing the payroll process in a multi-state environment. Experience with the state registration process is a plus.
- Experience processing expense reports to ensure they are reimbursed in accordance with company policy.
- Prior experience processing accounts payable is preferred.
- Experience with NetSuite (or similar ERP system),
- A high level of personal organization and attention to detail.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with Expensify and/or Paycor.
- Experience in a high growth SaaS company environment.
- Please note: Austin area candidates are strongly preferred.
