With a specialized focus on content strategy and UX writing, our Content Design team plays an invaluable role in crafting the tone, language, and narrative continuity of the HomeAway product experience. As a Content Design/UX Writing Intern, you’ll help to make content clearer and more meaningful for our Web and app products. • You'll assist Senior Content Designers in developing clear strategies for how, why, and when to test the content you design.
    • You'll work quickly but precisely to craft product content and get it in front of users for feedback.
    • You'll hone your craft and evolve your content by participating in peer reviews, group design and content critiques, and in-house research usability tests.
    • You'll communicate results and illustrate suggestions in compelling and creative ways, understandable by a cross-functional and cross-cultural audiences.

Who you are:

  • Desired experience:
    • Exceptional writing, editorial, and information-organization skills
    • Entry-level understanding of information architecture and service design
    • A portfolio of work that you’re proud to share (academic or conceptual work is acceptable for this role)
    • Familiarity with modern app-development practices (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, user and job stories, etc.)
    • Familiarity with a variety of problem-solving techniques for content design (service maps, messaging architectures, page tables, content patterns, content audits and inventories, etc.)
    • Excellent analytical skills
    • Ability to identify and astutely describe design problems
    • Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent work ethic and a natural inclination to learn and share your knowledge with others
