Data Annotator (Part Time)
The data science team at HomeAway is looking for part-time apprentices to annotate hundreds of thousands to millions of textual and pictorial records to train machine learning algorithms. I ideal candidate would be in their Freshman or Sophomore years in school and should be local to the Austin area.
What you’ll do:
- As a Data Scientist Apprentice at HomeAway – you’ll work with an amazing group of Data Scientists who play a major role in how we architect, visualize, and interpret critical data that is at the very core of our business.
- We know that the very first requirement for high quality supervised artificial intelligence is reliable labeled data; all of our successes in that field have come from team members committed to accuracy and efficiency in this practice. Our labelers are responsible for the ultimate gold standard for managed predictions.
- A normal day will likely include classifying or finding sub-components in thousands of single-page documents or images, requesting clarity from subject matter experts who own the business requirements, and communicating those findings as a member of the data science team.
Who you are:
- You'll standout from the crowd if you have experience annotating text in prodi.gy, GATE,BRAT, or Figure Eight (previously known as Crowdflower), and if you have working knowledge of statistics or data science.
