Hippo Diversity Internship Program

Hippo Insurance is committed to building a team culture that celebrates diversity and inclusion. The goal of our Diversity Internship Program is to give qualified individuals the opportunity to enhance their insurance education and establish meaningful contacts to further their careers. The insurance industry is not well known for its diversity, as a result many minorities don’t consider building their careers in this industry. Hippo would like to give these interns a real-world view inside the industry by having them observe and work alongside a diverse team of insurance professionals. 

Duration: 8 weeks

Start Date: July 20th, 2020

Paid: $15-20 per hour

Location: Austin, Texas

Focus: We will offer the intern a full understanding of the Insurance process.

That includes spending time/shadowing within the following departments - 

• Claims
• Sales
• Support
• Underwriting & Actuarial
• Tech & Product
• Marketing & Business Development

Project Presentation:

• At the end of shadowing each department, the intern will be able to choose the one they are most interested in and present a topic based on their experience, research, and conversations with mentors/leaders. 

Mentorship: Every intern will have a senior mentor that will meet with them once a week for 30-60 minutes.
