Industry analysts predict that within 10 years, 4 out of 5 decisions will be machine assisted. Currently, only 1% of data is even being accessed, let alone leveraged to make better decisions. As the adoption of advanced analytics, machine learning, and Edge/IoT continues to proliferate, 100% data availability will be the primordial ingredient required for enterprises to be successful at scale. However we have reached a tipping point where the effort involved in making data accessible is far exceeding the value we create with the data.

Positioned as an Enterprise Data Virtualization company, we leverage a deep portfolio of inventions that modernize data access by simplifying, accelerating, and enabling improved control over data. We are based in Austin and Palo Alto, and we are a cohesive team determined to bring about a complete revolution in the way enterprises access data. Our team wakes up every day energized by our mission to unlock human potential through the power of data. Solving this incredibly difficult access problem will lead to a super evolution across in industries like Healthcare and Transportation.

If you want to join a team who will make a huge impact on the future, this is what we are looking for:

We are seeking awesome minds like yours to help unlock the power trapped in some of the world’s largest data flows and silos. Be on the ground floor of a complete transformation in the way data and information are ingested, stored, and analyzed. Our internships are based in our downtown Austin, Texas office.

As an Intern you will collaborate closely with full-time senior engineers. You will be working on real projects, with real clients and building your resume in the best way possible: by contributing to open source software.  Interns are fully integrated into our development process and will get practical software engineering experience.  You will also learn about Open Source business models, managed services, commercializing a SaaS cloud offering and much more.  At the end of your internship you will have broadened your experience as an engineer and have a new perspective on what it is like to challenge some of the biggest companies in the world with a truly disruptive technology.

REQUIREMENTS

What we are looking for in you:

  • You are sharp, assertive and ready to do something really important.
  • You are in the process of receiving a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • You have a solid foundation in computer science theory, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
  • You are curious about distributed systems and building large scale platforms.
  • You are proficient in the languages and technologies relevant to your area of expertise (e.g. Javascript/CSS for frontend development). Experience with Go is a major bonus for backend development.
  • You are genuinely interested in Molecula, Pilosa, and are excited to use Pilosa in a project, if you haven't already.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

An Insider's view of Molecula

What’s the vibe like in the office?

We're an agile team with incredible internal motivation. This creates a contagious energy that makes coming into work exciting and transcends into the remote workspace. With remote employees and a team in Palo Alto, we do a great job of embracing our diverse talent across the world while still acting as one. We love our weekly virtual happy hours!

Heather

VP Customer Success

What projects are you most excited about?

I'm most excited about creating UI that makes data more accessible and digestible for both non-technical and technical folks. Our UI empowers non-techies to understand trends and gain a high level view of what their data represents and allows more technical people to dig in deeper to all of their data without having a ton of setup work.

How has your career grown since starting at the company?

When I was making the decision to join, H.O. said to me, “this is going to be like getting 100 MBAs at once,” and he was not wrong. The career growth I’ve experienced during my time at Molecula has undoubtedly changed my life’s trajectory. I attribute this to my teammates, the problems we are solving, and the pace at which we operate.

Sarah

Director of Product

What is your vision for the company?

We see a future where data is as ubiquitous as air and water and where any human or machine that needs input to make decisions can access any and all the data she, he or it needs. This ability to instantly access data will become a basic right and will lay the foundation for a super evolution that unlocks human potential in ways we can not fathom.

Higinio "H.O."

CEO

How does the company support your career growth?

The Molecula leadership team empowers everyone within the organization to explore their passions even if it's not within their job description. I started as an intern and didn't realize what an amazing experience it would be. I'm so happy I accepted my full-time offer and am an integral part of building the company's Sales and Marketing processes.
