Intern - Finance
Q2 is looking for talented individuals with exceptional technical curiosity and is enthusiastic about solving problems.
The Summer Internship Program is 12-weeks long (May 22nd - August 11th) and all positions are paid hourly with an average work week of 40 hours. You’ll receive real world career experience in a professional setting focused on digital banking software and technology. In addition to your daily work, you will be given the opportunity for weekly classroom trainings with Sr. Leadership, activities with other Q2 interns and the opportunity to present to the Executive Leadership team at the end of the program. Upon completion of the internship program, interns have the opportunity to receive a full-time position after graduation.
This position will be an in-office or hybrid role. Due to this being an in-office or hybrid role, it is preferred the intern is located in Austin or surrounding areas.
As an Finance Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on accounting experience and learn more about what day to day life is like as a Financial Analyst at a public, growing company. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, dependable, detail-orientated, and works well in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
· Review and evaluate customer contracts for bookings/billing and revenue recognition purposes
· Generate & validate customer invoices in a high-volume billing environment
· Resolve customer billing issues and inquiries by communicating directly with customers regarding billing and collection issues
· Gather customer usage data from vendors including analysis and input of usage for billing
· Prepare reconciliations, journal entries and other month-end close activities
· Perform trend analysis and other analytic techniques to identify trends and anomalies in product and customer revenue
· Assist with development of new processes and process improvements
· Assist with audit queries (both internal and external auditors)
Requirements:
· Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program (Accounting or Finance) with an expected graduation between May 2023 and May 2024.
· Proficiency working with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, importing/exporting of large data sets, financial modeling)
· Proficiency in Power BI, Netsuite or Salesforce is a plus
· Exceptional work ethic, highly efficient and accurate, excellent attention to detail
· Ability to operate independently (and as part of a team) to proactively take ownership of work product (driven, diligent and self-motivated)
· Excellent time management skills and communication skills (both written and verbal)
· Trustworthy and discreet with confidential financial, customer and employee data
· Motivated self-learner with the passion and follow through to acquire new skills
· Enthusiasm and a desire to make a difference
