Internal IT Intern/Contractor (Help Desk Tech 1)
ClearDATA is seeking an Internal IT Intern/Contractor for ClearDATA’s Internal IT team for a 3 to 6 month internship/contract. We are looking for someone that wants to work for a dynamic and fast growing startup environment. You must be proactive with a great attitude and personality and should be someone that wants to use their technical skills and entrepreneurial spirit to truly make a difference! You should be passionate about performing highly complex computer systems analysis work. The Internal IT/Help Desk will provide technical and/or specialized guidance to our internal staff.
Required skills:
- Provide friendly customer support
- Provide first level Help Desk support to employees for applications, equipment, and voice and data systems.
- Interact with hardware and software vendors on an ongoing basis for repair and problem resolution.
- Author appropriate documentation and procedures relating to equipment operations, software changes, maintenance and problems encountered, with periodic review to insure they are current
- Assist with major system upgrades as needed.
- Evaluate current methods of software and hardware use, recommend improvements and efficiencies.
- Undertake other projects and duties as assigned.
- Provide walk up customer support by creating trouble tickets using the ticket system
- Provide phone/chat/email/desk-side support for desktop related issues, including Microsoft and other installed software issues. These include all Microsoft products.
- Assist in staging desktops and laptops including re-imaging OS, installing corporate required software.
- Troubleshoot desktop / laptop issues, etc.
- Removal of hardware and installation of new hardware.
- Replace toner in printers, clear printers of paper jams
- Work helpdesk tickets in your queue.
- Provide backup support to other tier 1 supports techs.
- Document tickets and troubleshooting steps for escalation.
- Create and maintain documentation
Qualifications:
- Knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft products including Windows 7, Office and Outlook
- Basic understanding of computer and computer components
- Have the ability to assess needs and/or problems of users to correct or recommend viable solutions, using knowledge of systems and equipment
- Have effective interpersonal skills to communicate with organization staff and department managers to accomplish goals for productivity and organization wide quality of service
- Have the ability to work independently with little supervision
- Lifting and moving equipment is required
- Desire to learn and to work with others
