We are seeking a Software Engineer Intern (Backend) to join our team of engineers, data scientists, and designers to help us deliver DeepNLP, our next-generation Natural Language Processing product. In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience with Flask, Python, OpenAPI, Docker, and the rest of our tech stack as you help us redesign and extend DeepNLP’s core REST API.

You’re a junior or above pursuing a degree in Computer Science (or a related field) and are interested in crafting solutions to complex problems. You are a highly motivated and results-driven individual who thrives in fast-paced environments.
What you’ll do
- Ship code to production
- Work on our DeepNLP team alongside senior engineers to redesign our core REST API
- Work on microservices and implement OpenAPI compatible APIs
- Be paired with an engineering mentor to guide you throughout the internship
- Learn about Agile and Scrum by participating in our daily scrum, weekly backlog refinement, and weekly sprint planning meetings.
What we’re looking for
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Computer Science (or related field)
- Positive attitude and a strong team player
- Available to work full-time for 10 weeks during the Summer
- Expertise in Python (or a similar language)
- Experience with REST APIs is a plus
- Experience with databases is a plus
- Experience with microservices is a plus
