Internship Overview:
The Kendra Scott Summer Internship Program offers students an opportunity to gain exposure to the inner workings of our fast-growing, multi-category, fashion lifestyle brand. We value all of our interns and commit to providing a comprehensive learning experience that aligns with individual interests and career goals.
Basics:
• 10-week, paid experience in Austin, TX

Position Overview:
We have the exciting opportunity to support the rapid growth of our company through international and domestic transportation! The Transportation Intern will join the transportation team monitoring daily shipments from international origins to our distribution center and directly to our customers! The internship would also help analyze domestic shipments across multiple channels and directly to customers to ensure WOW Customer Service. This position will report to the Transportation Manager and would work closely with other managers in the supply chain. This role is a great fit for a person with a drive to understand complex problems, desire to improve and build, strong ability to see around corners, and a passion for data analytics.
Responsibilities:
International Transportation
• Monitor inbound shipments to ensure on-time delivery
• Work with carriers on root cause analysis for delays in shipping
• Partner with Trade Compliance team to ensure proper records are being kept and reported
• Communicate deliveries and delays of shipments to internal partners
Domestic Transportation
• Monitor outbound shipments to ensure on-time delivery
• Compile and analyze shipment data to track trends, delivery issues, and cost
• Update internal database with shipment data to forecast cost and service provider choice
• Analyze channel shipping expense to provide managers information on better ways of doing business
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
• The ability to work 40 hours per week (Monday through Friday, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm)
• Availability to work May 20- July 26, 2019. Consideration will be given for special life events with the exception of Internship Orientation (Monday, May 20th)
o Memorial Day & Fourth of July will be observed as company holidays
• A well-developed understanding of Microsoft Excel and a working knowledge of Microsoft Access
• A desire to learn more in the supply chain space; supply chain management majors preferred
• The ability to demonstrate strong leadership among peers and across the organization
• A high level of accountability, reliability and initiative
• A proven ability to execute with consistent delivery
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
