Mission

As a SRE (DevOps) you will build out the real-time infrastructure to power the world's first artificial intelligence for sales. You will be setting up and maintaining our cloud-based infrastructure and work to constantly improve our performance and reliability. You will also work closely with developers to set up continuous delivery and ensure that new features can be deployed quickly and smoothly. Use cutting-edge technologies such as AWS, GCP, Node.js, Go, Ruby, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, NoSQL Databases, Ansible and Terraform to continue to scale our infrastructure.

  • Building infrastructure to process terabytes of data per day and thousands of API calls per second.
  • Relentlessly measure and optimize as Tenfold builds the highest-scale and most advanced analytics platform in the world.
  • Building fault-tolerant systems to handle millions of events per hour with each event processing under 100ms
  • Create processes and architecture to monitor and maintain Tenfold systems to pre-empt problems before they ever threaten our customers’ workflows or data.

  • Automate every operational process.
  • Automate all monitoring with a particular emphasis on the customer’s perspective.
  • Design and deploy auto-healing components, working with engineering to make this possible.
  • Design and deploy auto-scaling components, working with engineering to make this possible.
  • Work with Architecture and Engineering to understand and address potential failure scenarios.
  • Work with Security, Architecture, and Engineering to understand and address potential security vulnerabilities.
  • Continuously test resilience using chaos monkeys.
  • Continuously test auto-scaling by injecting large volumes of traffic into the network.
  • Support continuous deployment.
  • Deliver 99.9% uptime.
  • Create chaos monkey scripts that test architecture failures.
  • Manage Kubernetes cluster servers in multiple DCs.
  • Experience with keystore like (e.g. Vault).
  • Experience with monitoring systems using tools like Sensu and writing health checks.
  • Manage the code deployments and manage our CI/CD systems.
  • Create KPIs for engineering team and be responsible for them on a weekly basis (e.g. average event processing time
  • Attend each Monday management meeting to deliver KPIs to the group.
  • Hold weekly 1-1 meetings with architecture/ops team.
  • Manage the code deployments.
  • Currently the company has a European data center in Frankfurt that has individually maintained servers. In the US we use Kubernetes. Deploy the same tech stack we have in the US into Europe.
  • Own network diagram architecture and data center map.
  • Be on the lookout for CVEs, unsafe development or deployments practises.
  • Maintain a structured and safe process for employee/contractor onboarding and offboarding.

  • Ability to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation
  • Strong development skills using JavaScript, Python, Java, Ruby, or Scala.
  • Strong cloud systems management experience in either AWS or Google Cloud and previous experience on virtualized and bare metal systems.
  • Experience working with HashiCorp tools like Terraform, Vault, Consul
  • Experience building and managing big data infrastructure services.
