Position Overview:
We have an exciting opportunity to support the rapid growth of our Company at our Home Office in Austin, TX! Reporting to our Director of Risk Management, our Paralegal will be responsible for projects related to brand protection and legal compliance in an effort to protect the company and reduce risk. This role requires someone that is highly organized and also great at working with cross-functional teams on multiple projects.
Responsibilities:
Brand Protection:
• Responsible for intellectual property enforcement program in an effort to prevent the sale of counterfeit or infringing products
• Proactively search the internet including social media sites and perform takedowns of any infringing products along with supporting additional actions, if needed
• Responsible for growth of copyright portfolio and assist with growth of trademark portfolio
• Perform trademark clearance searches
• Support investigations of grey market products
Legal & Compliance:
• Collaborate with production team to ensure all product categories are compliant with laws and regulations
• Assist other departments with contract review and participate in contract negotiation
• Accountable for store setup and maintenance compliance for all federal and local business licenses
• Communicate with outside counsel as it relates to matters involving intellectual property, contracts, advertising and promotions
• Provide general assistance to all departments that seek legal support
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Paralegal for a high-growth company
• A proven ability to execute with consistent delivery and reprioritize based on evolving business needs
• Possess high level of discretion, tact, judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to communicate complex issues, risks and opportunities in easily understood and concise manner
• Strong investigative, organization and writing skills
• A strong ability to build cross functional partnerships and work collaboratively
• A growth mindset: desire to learn, grow and embrace new ideas
