We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Licensing Manager to support the COO with out-bound licensing, partner relationships, and licensee product development in coordination with our consumer products team. This position is located in our Austin office. The Licensing Manager will engage with our partners to develop marketing and release strategies, coordinate product releases to enhance and meet the company’s strategic goals; maximizing revenue from licensing efforts without cannibalizing or impacting the company’s other revenue streams. The ideal candidate would have a passion for the companies IP, knowledge of product development (including video games), project management skills, contract negotiation, partnership relationships and ability to think creatively from a marketing and product development point of view. The candidate would also have a proven track record of related experience to support and fulfill the strategic objectives of out-bound licensing.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong, highly collaborative relationships with key licensees and retailers creating effective partnerships and increasing Rooster Teeth IP placement at retail.
  • Communicate with partners providing key annual brand/franchise plans, marketing and brand plans, and cross promotional activities.
  • Identify new partners and strategic licensing opportunities to expand global brand awareness and IP to continually strengthen the licensee base.
  • Develop initiatives with other lines of businesses (and license partners) to maximize synergy activity and develop promotional opportunities.
  • Effectively communicate Licensing strategies to all company departments and gain support of licensing activities to ensure internal alignment of licensing activities and company strategies.
  • Exceptional collaboration with Consumer Products, Business Development, Marketing and Creative team leaders to effectively align licensing/retail strategy and execution.
  • Manage relationships with licensees from contract execution to expiration/termination in conjunction with Brand Managers: brand stewardship, facilitating assets, resolving issues, ensuring accurate and timely forecasting, facilitating review and feedback of product and marketing submissions
  • Manage project development timelines, licensing agreement compliance and reporting

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years consumer product, licensing, project management and/or contract negotiation and execution
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Strong understanding of brand and consumer product positioning
  • Ability to create product development time line and effectively communicate critical path to success
  • Strong relationship building skills, flexible and adaptable; able to collaborate, influence and persuade both internally and externally
  • Strong understanding of brand and consumer product positioning
  • Capable of working independently and managing a variety of initiatives simultaneously
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Project Management and/or Smartsheet experience a plus
