ROLE SUMMARY 

 

We are seeking an Account Director, Performance Marketing to join our team in Chicago! As Account Director, Performance Marketing, you’ll be responsible for our performance marketing focused client relationships. You’ll establish yourself as a trusted partner to clients, and will use your expertise in performance marketing to guide them to the best solution for their business objectives. You will orchestrate advanced marketing and advertising campaigns for our clients, leveraging your capabilities in dynamic ad creative, personalization, advanced integration of DMPs, and the adtech and martech ecosystems. 

 

What You’ll Do: 

Client Relationship 

  • You’ll be the main W2O point of contact with the client marketing team, developing and maintaining meaningful and productive client relationships to ensure that strategic recommendations and deliverables surpass client expectations 

  • Initiate on-going communication with clients to manage and align expectations, ensure staffing resources and performance expectations are met and provides ongoing strategic counsel 

  • Provide proactive counsel on research findings, the external marketplace, competitive pressures and brand influences to sell agency expertise, gains consensus on creative ideas, and develops strategic initiatives 

  • Manage multiple client engagements of varying sizes in a fast-paced environment 

Strategy 

  • Collaborate with client peers to drive strategic solutions that respond to business and communications challenges 

  • Identify new opportunities to help their business and brand 

  • Create thoughtful, clear, concise decks that outline business objectives, POVs, strategic plans, etc. 

  • Provide counsel and guidance internally and with client on overall campaign performance, guiding creative and placement optimizations, providing strong input on measurement data, and guiding the team on all reporting outputs. Must have strong knowledge of the platforms and data used to support and measure the overall performance of the campaign 

  • Thoroughly understand W2O’s capabilities and demonstrates a passion for healthcare, digital and communications to help spot opportunities for the client to achieve greater success, reach a broader audience and use all the tools at their disposal 

Operations 

  • Inspire and leads internal teams to ensure technical and operational excellence in all executions 

  • Serve as the escalation point for execution and project challenges, utilizing technical and influence skills to problem solve and keep projects on-time and on-budget 

  • Partner with practice and shared service leads throughout the business to identify opportunities to streamline, elevate and innovate our tactical processes, incorporating feedback from direct reports 

  • Work directly with Account and Media counterparts to develop, vet, and execute campaign scopes and ensures all team members are tracking to responsibility/budget 

 

Who You Are: 

  • You’ve achieved a leadership position at a pharmaceutical/advertising/healthcare or biotech organization  

  • 4+ years of active management of a client’s performance marketing/advertising-driven activities across display, video, social and search 

  • Solid knowledge of at least two online advertising platforms (AdWords, DoubleClick, MediaMath, Trade Desk, Facebook) and processes, and general familiarity with tag management tools (GTM or Tealium) 

  • Mastery of dynamic creative personalization and multi-channel optimization 

  • Understanding of web and app technology including but not limited to tagging, cookies, SDKs and tracking codes 

  • Exceptional project management skills; demonstrated ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, prioritize and manage detailed budgets 

  • Informal/formal presentation and writing skills; including presenting to clients 

  • Skilled in data communication
