As the Developer Marketing Manager, you will serve as the marketing focal point for SailPoint’s Developer Community, drive marketing strategies and activities designed to increase platform and feature adoption.

 

Working closely with the SailPoint Developer Relations team, you will help build an online developer community, moderating, and supplying relevant information about new launches and features available via SailPoint’s APIs. In addition, you will help define and execute SailPoint’s relationship with developer’s through messaging, outreach, and programs.

 

To be successful in this role you must possess marketing and communications skills, as well as a strong technical understanding of developer tools, enterprise software, and rapidly evolving security landscape. These skills then fuel your ability to be a key evangelist and storyteller, demonstrating the value that SailPoint provides to developers.  Moving and thinking rapidly with an attention to detail and a sharp eye for quality, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into benefits is crucial.

 

The position reports to the Manager of Technical Product Marketing and is available as a remote position for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for identifying and defining the landscape of online developer marketing channels and proposing strategies to utilize them.
  • Define, manage, and potentially establish new channels to communicate with the API developer audience, both online and offline.
  • Maintaining a strong and credible presence in social media and technology channels relevant to developers to communicate any new features, updates, and/or changes to APIs.
  • Drive cross-functional launches, coordinating the efforts of engineering, sales, marketing, PR, and operations.
  • Develop internal and external messaging, partner and customer enablement, and integrated campaigns and nurture programs for developers.
  • Lead and participate in customer meetings to understand the sentiment of developers in key customer segments, including to get feedback on our platform capabilities.
  • Lead our messaging and content for our developer-focused activities such as at virtual events
  • Act as an evangelist to developers, market influencers, prospects, and customers at tradeshows, industry events, and conferences.
  • Write strong, effective marketing/technical content (emails, blogs, ads, etc) for external audiences 

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience on high-performing technical/product marketing teams or marketing to developer communities.
  • An understanding how developers use our platforms and tools.
  • Proven track record of working with and marketing to a developer audience.
  • 1-2 years’ experience developing and working in modern programming languages/frameworks a plus.
  • Self-starter who is experienced in successfully taking a project from concept to execution.
  • Demonstrate a passion for relating to technical audiences and making sophisticated concepts simple to understand for users.
  • Experienced at successfully multi-tasking a variety of critical priorities.
  • Highly collaborative and is able to influence and work across cross-functional teams.
  • Show success in having tackled ambiguous problems and broken them down into well-scoped solutions.
  • Strong project/program management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills.

 

Education:

BA/BS required. Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related work experience a plus.

 

Travel:

This position may require up to 25% travel.
