Director, Experiential Marketing
(Austin, TX)

About the role:
The Director of Experiential Marketing is responsible for the execution of online and offline experiences that embody the brand ethos. This role is a highly visible, cross-functional leader, partnering closely with the VP of Marketing and founders to create large and small scale events. Atmosphere's vision is to redefine B2B and consumer events that educate, entertain and reflect the growth, delight, and momentum that Atmosphere has created for its customers as we expand into new national markets. As the company recently secured series B funding, there is a unique opportunity to build the next beloved technology platform at scale.  This position will contribute to the creation of meaningful and impactful experiences that garner press, increase brand awareness, foster strong community relations and increase revenue. We are looking for a leader to develop national / local programs, implementing cutting edge ideas that reflect our company’s innovative spirit.

This person will employ an entrepreneurial, collaborative and results-oriented approach to lead and advance our brand.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Redefine what experiential marketing is and can be in our industry
  • Develop concepts, themes, formats and manages the execution of other major events for the organization that engage community, increase brand awareness and grow revenue
  • Collaborate with creative, content and technical teams to deliver the highest quality experiences
  • Lead integration amongst the various marketing, advertising and PR partners to ensure strategic, as well as consistent brand identification
  • Oversee all event planning estimates for project scope, schedule, and resource requirements ensuring programs are properly budgeted, estimated, and scheduled
  • Write conceptual content, drive presentation development and present to C level executives
  • Be a student of consumers. Of trends, competitors and culture. Listen, learn and mine insights that direct the brand into amazing places.  
  • Function as a thought leader with significant knowledge of all aspects on experiential marketing including cutting edge techniques to engage and excite the consumer
  • Evaluate competitive landscape of company's competitors to monitor strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities
  • Detailed budget analysis and ROI modeling and reporting setting company KPI expectations and communicating results and milestones
  • Deep diving into consumer behavior and brand awareness to align experiences with brand KPIs
  • Lead and curates event management training to and oversight of other event staff, interns, and contractors to maximize productivity and efficiency
  • Direct consultants and vendors prior to and during the event to ensure flawless efficiency
  • Negotiate with venues, consultants and vendors to secure rates that enhance budgets
  • Develop budgets and oversees financial reporting to internal departments and external agencies
  • Collaborate with the communications team to create content for event correspondence, collateral materials, social media and the Atmosphere website
  • Oversee the post-event coordination, including, but not limited to debrief meetings, recognition to key constituents, financial reporting and data transfer
  • Inform and updates staff members and other involved parties throughout the event cycle
  • Detailed budget analysis and ROI modeling; deep diving into consumer behavior and brand awareness
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as needed

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • 7+ experience in leading a team and developing large and small scale events 
  • Production experience is a must
  • Prior supervisory experience and strong leadership skills
  • Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills: the ability to work effectively with staff; display superior judgment and diplomatic skills; excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Proven strong negotiating skills
  • The flexibility to work based on event needs
  • Enthusiasm, commitment to excellence, self-motivation, a professional demeanor, is highly organized and detail oriented
  • A collaborative, team-oriented attitude
  • CRM knowledge and management abilities a must
