The Director of Product Marketing is responsible for driving the messaging, positioning and go-to-market strategy for SailPoint's market-leading identity and access management solutions. This role will set the vision and execute the product marketing strategy for our entire product lines, including creating compelling messaging that uniquely positions our solutions in the market.
Candidates for this role must be an innovative and dynamic market and technology thought leader with a passion for marketing B2B enterprise technologies and a proven record influencing the behavior of organizations to achieve common strategic objectives. The position requires strong marketing and communications skills, as well as a technical understanding of enterprise software, software as a service, enterprise IT environments, and rapidly evolving security and compliance technologies. The Director of Product Marketing must be comfortable working closely with executives, product management, sales, and marketing, as well as with prospects, customers, partners, and analysts.
Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of product marketing managers to develop and execute the strategy to drive business growth and enhance product adoption
  • Collaborate closely with product management to influence and contribute to the product roadmap development.
  • Partner with Product Management to develop and execute go-to-market plans, including setting pricing/packaging, coordinating product launches, briefing industry analysts and press, and developing product collateral and sales tools.
  • Develop rigorous product launch and release processes that connect all the dots across the company to bring new products and releases successfully to market.
  • Take the lead of launches - planning, creating/managing deliverables, timelines and more to ensure maximum revenue impact by product line.
  • Develop product positioning and competitively differentiated messaging for a product based on user research, market insights, and product knowledge. Helps buyers understand our benefits and unique advantages and deliver it through compelling presentations, demonstrations, collateral, white papers, and positioning documents.
  • Orchestrate competitive intelligence program to gather and analyze competitive data to advantage our position in the market.
  • Establish credibility as a visionary/thought leader in the marketplace evangelizing to market influencers as well as prospects and customers.
  • Have a customer centric mindset and be able to deeply understand customers' needs and translate that knowledge to guide product marketing
  • Work closely with brand, creative, web and demand-gen teams to increase market presence and drive pipeline through key outbound assets (video, webinars, thought leadership, email nurture, etc).
  • Act as a product evangelist for SailPoint's product lines at virtual events, industry events, and conferences.
  • Closely collaborate with sales and partner teams to effectively position products and develop assets to enable GTM motion.


Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in product marketing within an enterprise SaaS or software industry
  • 5+ years managing high-performing product marketing teams with a proven track record of success
  • A demonstrated ability to oversee product launches from ideation to execution
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Security software experience a plus.


Education:
MBA or equivalent preferred; BA/BS in business or technical field required.
