We’re looking for an Event Marketing Manager to join our Marketing Communications team in North America to help us tell our unique story, showcase our leading software products, and drive marketing qualified leads. You will be responsible for the logistics, preparation, planning and execution of virtual and in-person events (when they resume) that drive brand awareness and lead generation. Additionally, you will help support Cognite’s executive thought leadership program through external events. Beyond planning and logistical capabilities, you also have stellar writing and basic multimedia capabilities (able to edit video down for social media consumption, as one example).

You’ll collaborate closely with the North America Marketing and Communications Director and the Global Events Manager, as well as PR, social media, sales, and engineering teams to execute our brand strategy and secure lead generation during and after events.

What You’ll Do

  • Planning and Logistics
    • Work with the North America Marketing and Communications Director to define and execute on event strategy
    • Work with the Global Events Manager to define event goals, strategies, and return on investment measurement criteria and drive lead generation from the events
    • Identify, plan, and execute a variety of local and national events, including webinars, trade shows, customer/partner events, product launches, and conferences
    • Act as the primary event program manager; develop and manage comprehensive event project plans with timelines and production overviews, conduct regular checkpoints with deliverable owners, escalate risks and challenges appropriately
    • Work with the Global Events Manager to establish and monitor event budgets and manage all third party vendors
    • Travel to events to manage production and on-site presence with event staff (when in-person events resume)
  • Content Support
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams for all event deliverables including demos, session recordings or live sessions, and event moderation activities
    • Support production of abstracts, presentations, videos and other assets
    • Support and prepare briefings for speaker preparations
    • Work together with the marketing team to develop content for pre- and post-event campaigns

Who You Are

  • 3+ years of experience building and developing high-profile B2B events, ideally in the heavy-asset industry space
  • Proven track record of execution of a variety of events
  • Experience planning and executing in person events, from pre-planning all the way to on site execution
  • Experience and familiarity with virtual event production and platforms/tools
  • Experience with marketing automation tools, specifically Hubspot
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite, and Aftereffects
  • Experience and familiarity with industrial trade shows
  • Ability to balance short- and long-term priorities and manage various stakeholders
  • Comfortable working in a high impact, high energy, fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working autonomously with excellent cross-team collaboration skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
