The Integrated Planning and Communications Strategist will be responsible for contributing to the continued publication of content within Seasonal and Integrated Planning and the Retail Execution Planner. Reporting to the Principal Manager of Retail Execution Communications, this is a position on the larger Global Retail Marketing Team. The Integrated Planning and Communications Specialist is responsible for creating, maintaining, and proofing content within the Retail Execution Planner. This position is intended to maintain a strong understanding of communication style and content that is effective for in-store execution. This position is also responsible for delivering effective communication of seasonal themes and Merchandising, Marketing, and Operations strategies. The strategist maintains file repositories and archives related to the Planner, including image libraries, links to data sources, and supporting materials. A secondary responsibility of this role is contributing to the overall look and feel of the Retail Execution Planner and supporting materials.

Responsibilities:

· Contributes to content creation for the Retail Execution Planner

· Finalizes copy, visuals, and layout, of the Retail Execution Planner

· Maintains file repositories, publication platform, and reference / training tools supporting the Retail Execution Planner

· Ensures edits and updates to the Retail Execution Planner are accurate and timely

· Contributes to the general user look and feel of the execution planner, including outline, layout, graphics

· Maintains image libraries, links to additional data sources, and archives

· Manages content intake, delivery, and publication deadlines

· Supports development of support technology and integration with organization tools and systems

· Collaborates with key stakeholders to develop actionable execution content relevant to the audience

· Ensures that Merchandising, Marketing, and Operations content that is regionally and locally relevant

· Contributes to technology development supporting Integrated Planning functions

· Implements contributor content deadlines and maintains regular meeting schedules

· Documents planning for merchandising dedicated and shared space within stores

· Collaborates with Retail Marketing Team on process development

· Supports additional merchandising specific, store-facing content in the Retail Execution Planner

· Monitors Retail Execution Planner adoption and compliance by audience

· Contributes to communication platform development as a subject matter expert

· Assesses audience feedback of the Retail Execution Planner and implements adjustments where appropriate

· Builds relationships with Global, Regional, and Store teams

Qualifications:

· BA/BS degree and A-B years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience

· Actively demonstrates and lives Whole Foods Market leadership principles

· Broad understanding of retail execution fundamentals, including visual merchandising, product affinity, marketing collateral

· Ability to demonstrate nuanced understanding of the WFM business, food retail industry and the business models of key strategic partners and competitors

· Ability to engage with other leaders to formulate the organization’s long-term strategic direction

· Ability to define strategies to empower and equip leaders to be effective in interactions with internal and external stakeholders

· Experience in building out innovative, effective tools and reporting vehicles

· Experience in providing clear, actionable verbal and written communication to large groups

· Ability to lead and motivate Team Members and partners to advance projects amid complexity and ambiguity

· Ability to foster a collaborative working environment, fostering cooperation and leading through influence

· Business maturity and the ability to offer sound recommendations and make key decisions

· Ability to define opportunities and problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts and make valid conclusions

· Excellent organization and time management skills. Strong project management or operations background

· Ability to form strong partnerships and create common ground with multiple stakeholders across WFM to ensure the effective delivery of Merchandising Processes and Systems

· Knowledge of and passion for Whole Foods Market core values and company mission
