Lonely Planet is seeking a digital-focused Lifecycle Marketing Manager to drive growth through supporting our email marketing and automation strategies across our digital platform. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of Lifecycle Marketing for key audiences, including the vision and strategy, executing acquisition and engagement and evolving core retention strategies to better meet user needs. You will work collaboratively with brand marketing, engineering, social, product, design and user research to unlock customer insights and develop the technical components needed to realize your vision. You will bring a creative entrepreneurial spirit, disciplined test-and-learn mindset and excellent execution to support Lonely Planet’s growing and evolving brand. What You'll Do:

  • Develop and manage a lifecycle marketing program that truly meets the needs of today’s traveler
  • Work closely with a dedicated team of analysts, designers and engineers to find scalable ways to improve digital customer acquisition efforts, revenue growth, retention, and engagement for Lonely Planet
  • Develop strategy to grow our subscribers, engagement and traffic to site, measuring, tracking, and providing detailed reporting on the impact of growth marketing efforts
  • Manage day-to-day operations and optimization of our current newsletter product
  • Plan and execute ongoing testing (layout, format, frequency, copy, curation, etc.) to continuously improve multichannel performance gains that uncover and unlock campaign growth levers
  • Manage the creative process with designers and illustrators for all marketing campaigns
  • Take initiative in supporting new channels as the company further diversifies its marketing mix

What We're Looking For:

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience working within an email program 
  • 2+ years of analytical experience and a data driven mindset - exceptional analytical skills, experience driving audience growth and marketing decisions to hit goals
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to define quarterly roadmap with milestones (including quantified KPI targets), and to execute on that strategy efficiently
  • In-depth understanding of how to drive audience growth and segmentation through effective direct email marketing programs and A/B testing
  • Experience with in-depth analytics and problem solving, the ability to think strategically while being detail and execution-oriented 
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mentality 
  • Excellent communication, time-management, project management, and team management skills 
  • Working knowledge of HTML with dynamic logic and email testing tools for QA’ing email templates within an ESP 
  • Highly driven and willing to do whatever it takes to succeed 
  • Intuitive knowledge and understanding of underlying logic in consumer behavior
