This role will assist with tracking, audience targeting, performance measurement, reporting, and analysis of Whole Foods Market marketing campaigns. The candidate will work within the Whole Foods Market Digital & eCommerce Analytics team, reporting to the team leader of Campaign Tracking & Analysis. Their tracking and analysis support will encompass a variety of marketing channels, including online display advertising, push text notifications, natural and paid search, and email marketing. Particular focus will be on setting up automated campaign reporting, a/b testing, and identifying targeting opportunities to improve the efficiency and performance of campaigns. Above and beyond strong data and technical skills, the right candidate for this position will have a strong understanding of business and marketing performances.
The position is located in Austin, TX. Domestic relocation is provided.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes a variety of behavioral, marketing, demographic, transactional, and third-party data to optimize marketing & loyalty program performance; considers and explores multiple hypotheses to explain data relationships and trends.
  • Identifies test & learn opportunities and provides performance measurement reporting and analysis by customer segment.
  • Tracks and monitors the performance of Whole Foods marketing campaigns and communications channels.
  • Works with media agencies and marketing operations teams to ensure that media tracking is implemented, of high data quality, and integrated in databases and reporting/analysis systems.
  • Assists in the refinement of segmentation and predictive models to improve marketing communication relevance and performance.
  • Engages with third-party vendors to gather, analyze, and derive insights from available consumer and business performance data.
  • Works closely with cross-functional stakeholders, translating business questions into analyses that inform business decisions.
  • Translates data into clear, persuasive reports and presentations for senior leadership.

Skills:

  • Create simple linear regression models or apply simple t-tests. Limited knowledge of variable selection techniques and methods for diagnosing and validating model output.
  • Understanding of analytics, marketing strategy & operations, ad tech, business analysis, and loyalty programs.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQ and Tableau. Ability to write nested SQL queries, use multiple types of table joins, apply SQL functions (rank, sort, date functions, distinct counts, etc.).
  • Experience with R and/or Python and Tableau.
  • Ability to design / analyze controlled experiments (test/control, pre/post).
  • Ability to develop and activate against a consumer segmentation.
  • Proficiency working with large enterprise databases with demonstrated ability to query and prepare data for analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of Python scripting and automation methods.
  • Expresses ideas in a clear and concise way.
  • Actively listens and responds to others with understanding. Appropriately interprets verbal communications.
  • Displays professionalism and gains respect from others.
  • Presents information and responds to questions with guidance, one-on-one, and with internal and external customers.

  • Able to identify alignment/misalignment of team project goals with larger organizational strategy, goals, and objectives.
  • Understands the WFM product mix, supply base, and retail operations.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Statistics, Business, Economics, or related quantitative discipline. An advanced degree is preferred but not required.
  • At least 2 years professional experience in BI, IT, analytics, marketing, or business analysis, Loyalty program analytics, or related fields.
