The Opportunity

The Product Marketing Specialist (PMM) is responsible for the marketing content strategy and go-to-market initiatives for a core Magento product area. The role will focus on building and managing strong messaging for Marketing and IT buyers and System Integrator partners, engaging with technical audiences to evangelize product capabilities, enabling field teams to position and promote them, and partnering with corporate marketing to target the right buyers and influencers.

This includes working with our engineering and product team to deeply understand the products capabilities and value for our targeted markets and influence the product development for the targeted use case experiences. The PMM will also conduct market research to influence product direction and roadmap, go-to-market programs and business decisions. Using this information and knowledge the PMM will develop key messages and value propositions and drive creation of collateral to drive marketing and sales activities. As a senior member of the team, the PMM will take an active role in ensuring the product meets revenue targets and strategic goals. The position will report to Director of Product Marketing, SMB Commerce.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the effort to build content from Industry research and first part research

  • Own global content taxonomy and organization on our internal facing tools

  • Develop the core positioning and messaging as needed

  • Define and implement go-to-market plans in collaboration with global marketing, partners, success, services, and sales teams to drive demand, customer adoption and success

  • Take responsibility for results and closely monitor key success metrics including customer acquisition effectiveness, win rates, and customer renewal

  • Develop and partner to create solution-oriented content to build awareness and support demand generation and sales, including collateral, web site content, videos, webinar and press releases, and customer communications

  • Brief and train field staff and partners during regular sales meetings and webinars

  • Conduct market research to understand industry trends and identify opportunities

What you need to succeed

  • 3+ years of experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, while staying focused on the big picture

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence and communicate with credibility and confidence

  • Experience working cross-functionality with international and diverse teams: PR, Creative Services, Corporate Marketing, Product Management and Engineering

  • Fast-learner, with a positive attitude and willingness to try new things

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

  • Required travel up to 25%
