Public Relations Specialist

We have an incredible amount of stories to tell and are looking for a Public Relations Specialist to join the team to craft great narratives for legal, CPA, associations, and architectural industry media. As the Public Relations Specialist you get to write and pitch press releases and blogs, and reach industry media, bloggers and influencers to share outstanding content. You’ll lead the PR strategy and speakers bureau for our industry-leading payment solutions.
Every day you’ll get great content to package, like being an Inc 5000 fastest growing company, celebrating being an Austin Best Places to Work, launching new innovative features, partnering with fellow industry leaders to reach new markets, and sharing incredible payments content with the industry. The ideal candidate will harness all of the exciting news from AffiniPay into external outreach working close with our Chief Marketing Officer and Social Media Leader. This is an incredible role, and we can’t wait to get started with you!
Responsibilities

• Write and edit press releases, media pitches, media relations plans, and related support material
• Proactively mine internal content to package for external thought leadership distribution
• Build inspiring content with customers and partners to tell the story of crafting payment solutions that professionals love
• Run the external speakers' bureau for executives and leaders with vision
• Build presentations for speaking events
• Foster great relationships with local and national media, engaging reporters, bloggers and influencers to provide educational resources
• Arrange interviews and execute press outreach programs for internal executive’s industry event appearances
• Research industry media to create relevant content
• Revise, edit, and proofread content as needed or advised

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2-3 years of content writing or public relations experience
• Strong presentation building skills - both narrative arcs and PowerPoint/Google slide layout skills
• Proactive in crafting and maintaining a steady stream of content to increase all brand’s public perception
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong copywriting, grammatical, proofreading, and communication skills
• Understanding of evolving public relations landscape across digital media, press releases, blogs and social media strategy
• Ability to work quickly when deadlines are tight
• Ability to work in a team environment with staff at all levels
• Ability to give and take constructive feedback
• Strong attention to detail
• Passion for developing new insights, perspectives, and problem-solving
• Ability to come into the office a minimum of 2 days/week
