The Cart.com Marketing team is looking for a smart, high-energy, seasoned public relations manager to own and manage the PR elements of a fast-paced, high-volume marketing program. You will succeed at this role if you have a strong work ethic -- we are hungry, ambitious, and growing fast, and seek those same qualities in our partners and employees. We are seeking a collaborative team player -- every Cart.com team member must be committed to our mission to put brands back in charge of their ecommerce journey, work hard to make it happen, and have fun getting it done.

 

Responsibilities

  • Guide overall media strategy and campaigns, generate proactive story ideas, identify trends and themes relevant to Cart.com and its customers, maintain and build relationships with the press
  • Run executive communications programs including external speaking calendar, industry events, thought leadership and interviews 
  • Write press releases, media pitches, and other publicity materials 
  • Build out training program for our spokespeople and executive team to equip them when working with media 
  • Collaborate with and serve as day-to-day liaison with external PR agency, ensuring both parties are aligned on objectives and priorities. 
  • Work harmoniously with the marketing and executive team to continue building Cart.com’s brand presence, particularly as it appears in external communications 
  • Draft press releases, company blog posts and internal decks to communicate clearly and effectively to target audiences (media, customers, executive team)
  • Think creatively. Cart.com touches numerous verticals and needs someone who is willing to think outside the box and bring exciting, actionable ideas for reaching these external verticals to the team -- and run with them 

Experience

  • 5+ years of communications or PR agency experience, preferably within the ecommerce industry 
  • Demonstrated experience developing, directing and executing strategic communications programs that blend PR, content marketing, social media and data
  • Experience helping companies develop creative and compelling messaging, storylines and thought leadership platforms, including milestone news moments, unique POV, and customer programs 
  • A well rounded and established network that includes relationships with the likes of top-tier national and local business media, trade media and bloggers, and vertical market media (including: Beauty, Food & Beverage, Manufacturing, Apparel, Sports, Home & Garden, and more) 
  • Able to be available to work on Central time 

Bonus Points

  • Previous experience working for D2C brands or ecommerce platforms 
  • Experience with Marketo

Our headquarters is located in Austin, Tx at the address listed. The majority of our roles are flexible hybrid for employees who live within the cities where we have offices and remote for employees who are not located in those cities.
