Senior Marketing Manager, ShipEngine

Do you like the challenge of building something new? Do you enjoy engaging with technical audiences? Do you love to work across all areas of marketing? If so, you may be our next ShipEngineer! We’re looking for a talented Marketing Manager to help us grow awareness of the ShipEngine API among relevant audiences and generate new trials that convert into new business.


  • Develop a deep understanding of the API and shipping software space, and how ShipEngine fits into it
  • Collaborate with the Sr Director of Marketing to build and execute the go-to-market strategy to build awareness and demand for ShipEngine
  • Drive awareness and adoption of new ShipEngine API features via all relevant channels
  • Work directly with our Developer Evangelist to build customer case studies, thought leadership materials, and blog content
  • Build awareness of ShipEngine through PR activities including new client win announcements, client stories, market research, and more
  • Make updates to the ShipEngine website and identify new areas for testing and improvement
  • Maintain an events calendar, make recommendations for which events we should attend, manage the logistics for each event, and attend events as needed
  • Work directly with partners to identify areas for cross-promotion including blogs, case studies, and events
  • Manage the ShipEngine social channels to grow engagement among technical audiences
  • Writes and edits copy for landing page updates, handouts, social channels, blogs, ads, and other relevant channels
  • Work closely with the Online Marketing Manager to understand our digital (PPC, SEO, advertising) efforts and make recommendations for improvement
  • Work closely with the sales team to ensure they have up-to-date messaging and tools for prospecting (handouts, sales slides, etc)
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors like Hubspot, Salesforce, and list building companies
  • Work with the Senior Marketing Analyst to measure the return on each activity and make recommendations for optimizations

Must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in marketing, advertising, communications, or another relevant program
  • 5-7 years experience managing multiple marketing channels
  • Experience using CRM and marketing automation tools like Hubspot and Salesforce
  • Experience with marketing to a technical audience
  • Great written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to understand and write about technical products
  • The desire to build and develop a team over time
  • The ability to see the big picture while also paying attention to the smallest detail
  • A strong desire to test and improve in all areas of marketing
  • Ability to travel up to 10%​​​​​​​
