Amherst is seeking a resourceful, analytical, results-oriented SVP of Marketing to drive strategy and execution across all aspects of the firm’s B2B and B2C marketing initiatives in order to support staggering growth. Our ideal candidate will drive marketing innovation that moves our industry and brings our product, sales and marketing teams into alignment. This leader is an energetic self-starter with exceptional analytical, organizational, marketing, presentation and leadership skills. This role is for the executive that leads with data, enjoys addressing challenges and solving complex problems, with experience in financial services and/or real estate investment management marketing. We desire designed communication strategies around impactful, clear and concise messaging with outcomes that help the business leaders drive revenue and grow profits.

 

The Marketing team at Amherst is responsible for serving as a strategic partner and vendor to the entire business. Under its purview, the marketing team owns the brand development and narrative, the positioning of executives externally, the customer lifecycle – whether that customer is an investor, a resident or a home buyer/seller – and acquisition, strategic events, and creative services. From creating an annual calendar and strategy that aligns to business goals to ongoing reporting on marketing initiatives, this team serves as the backbone of a fast-paced, high growth organization. At a high-level, this team is charged with:

  • Creating captivating digital experiences to acquire new and nurture existing customers
  • Establishing a content strategy that creates highly compelling, credible and effective messaging for our key constituents
  • Understanding the market and segmentation of each of our audience groups: demographics, trends, how to reach them and how to connect with them
  • Executing flawless and thoughtful events that result in unique experiences for all constituents
  • Building strong communications and proactive, strategic approach to myriad, concurrent campaigns outbound and in response to inbound requests

Responsibilities:

  • Own both the strategic and tactical side of a growth marketing program including demand generation, content marketing, brand, public relations and executive communications
  • Lead the development & delivery of campaigns and projects for Bungalo, Main Street Renewal and Amherst
  • Delivering to ROI and other metrics, with proven ability to drive business outcomes inspired by data, technology and marketing solutions that are tailored to meet both B2B and B2C customer needs globally;
  • Elevate the communications and graphic representations that is cohesive with/to the overall Amherst brand yet distinctive for each division’s partner and client focus
  • Drive brand messaging, digital properties and digital demand from idea to implementation, including relevant KPI’s and budgets
  • Work with cross-functional parties on external & internal web presence
  • Plan & manage the entire marketing budget, lead a diverse team of direct reports and leverage marketing automation tools to increase effectiveness
  • Establish a scalable lead generation strategy and manage the process & team that drives conversion, clicks to dollars, and reduces sales conversion cycles
  • Works side-by-side with retail and institutional leaders to create, manage and execute a content strategy roadmap using innovative techniques and delivery systems
  • Teams with executives on public relations, executive communications and events, elevating their profiles and the company’s focused agenda
  • Supports the Amherst foundation not-for-profit events
  • Collaborate with the internal communications team to ensure the messages are unified and complementary

 

The ideal candidate for Amherst’s Head of Marketing role:

  • Is an expert at translating customer insights into integrated marketing campaigns – from conception, to plan development through execution;
  • Brings strong experience in direct and channel sales, productivity, marketing and management – with proven ability to bridge gaps between Senior Sales/Product Leaders and Marketing/Communications Team to maximize strategy and ROI;
  • Possesses a noted ability to simplify the complex, keep a calm head, develop collaborative relationships and motivate and grow talent;
  • Proven track record of success in effectively crafting thoughtful and compelling commentary tailored to a wide range of audiences via distilling complex concepts and messages for integrated marketing purposes;
  • Brings significant experience in executing global strategic integrated marketing programs

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field, MBA a plus.
  • 15+ years of leadership experience in marketing for real estate, financial services, private equity, fin-tech and/or B2C
  •  Experience scaling marketing teams and overall strategy
  • Experience leading large teams and growing junior team members
  • Demonstrated experience with executive communications and PR, developing brand content and managing digital properties
  • Prior experience in or oversight of digital demand generation strategies
  • Understanding of how events can drive business and create impeccable touch-points for customers
  • Prior experience leading cross-functionally to align resources within the marketing team to business goals
  • Experience reporting on marketing initiatives in a quantitative and qualitative manner
  • Technology in prior roles would include MS Suite (.PPT expert), Tableau, Slack and Asana (or other project management tools)
