Who you are
Cisco Secure is seeking a strategic executive leader that first and foremost understands and values the creative process and what it takes to execute successfully. The vision of the Cisco Secure brand is to build a world where information security is easy to understand. We are looking for a new leader to support our Brand Team to join our mission of cultivating a brand that is educational and advocates for differentiated, approachable information security.
The Cisco Secure brand is comprised of an extensive security portfolio of products including sub-brands such as Duo Security and Cisco Umbrella.
What you'll do

  • Drive the overall brand strategy (internal and external) for Cisco Secure globally
  • Drive strategic interlock with the Cisco, Webex and other senior marketing and brand executives
  • Transform Cisco Secure into a well-known and widely recognized leader in the security space
  • Work with executives across Cisco on brand strategy, optimized integration and overall success metrics
  • Uncover practical, inspirational insights that set up the Brand Team to produce breakthrough work that furthers real business results
  • Work with the Creative Director to define and develop brand and sub-brand architecture for Duo Security, Cisco Umbrella and future acquisitions.
  • Help define brand and marketing guidelines around business partnerships, business mergers & acquisitions and expansion
  • Support diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives across Cisco
  • Ideate and pressure test creative concepts to effectively differentiate Cisco Secure in the crowded security market
  • Drive continual optimization and actively giving to a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability
  • Manage agency relationships across a broad spectrum of needs and requirements


Minimum requirements

  • 20+ years of experience across a wide range of capabilities within brand strategy: building brand strategies (positioning, purpose, vision, pillars, messaging), brand architecture and portfolio strategies, brand innovation spaces, conducting market research, developing insights, and collaborating with creatives to build brand identities
  • Understanding of how brand and story work within B2B SaaS marketing
  • Validated experience leading fully integrated brand strategies
  • Ability to see opportunities for the brand and break them down into clear and inspiring strategic frameworks
  • Experience working with creative teams with diverse and unique backgrounds and working methods
  • Broad knowledge of industry levers to measure, test, and grow brand awareness and affinity
  • Familiarity with the cyber security space is a plus but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with virtual and hybrid teams
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, continuously evolving environment and be highly organized and thorough
  • Consistent track record of leading successful brands and brand transformation initiatives
  • Ability to collaborate with both day-to-day partners and senior business executives to drive strategic decisions


Who you'll work with

  • Reporting to the CMO of Cisco Secure Marketing, you will develop and deliver strategic objectives with executives and leaders within Cisco Secure and across the broader Cisco organization
  • Lead a brand team of 40+ individuals (made up of four sub-teams: story & media, brand strategy and design, web strategy, design and development, and creative operations) that values and respects each other's work ethic, individual working styles and unique skills
  • As part of the broader brand leadership team, your voice will be heard on all matters of strategic importance across the brand team. Your expertise in brand experience will be leveraged across a group of leaders heading media, creative, and sponsorships.
