The VP of Digital Marketing will lead a team of digital resources with the primary goals of driving 1/ digital demand generation and multi-billion dollar pipeline across the Americas, LATAM, EMEA, and APJ, and 2/ customer acquisition and growth through our self-service SaaS offerings. This is a highly visible executive leadership position and the successful candidate will be equally comfortable driving near term results while scaling the people, processes and systems for the future in a dynamic, hyper growth environment. We are looking for a charismatic leader committed to innovation, teamwork, the development of their people and the enhancement of our unique corporate culture. The leader will encourage their teams to take risks to drive modern marketing approaches and be passionate about the data science of numbers to deliver industry-leading best practices and strategic impact to MongoDB.

This role can be based out of our San Francisco, Austin or New York City office or remotely in North America.

CORE LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop global digital marketing Center of Excellence to help regional marketing achieve aggressive revenue targets   
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of key SaaS business metrics and use those metrics to set target thresholds per customer segment; Partner with Marketing Leaders to experiment with new channels, techniques, and messaging to scale marketing spend, as quickly as possible, while maintaining target profit margins
  • Develop multi-channel inbound and outbound direct and channel acquisition and nurture strategies including, but not limited to, paid digital, email, direct mail, webinars, content syndication, content marketing, and coordinated SDR outreach
  • In partnership with the WebOps team, overhaul and create best-in-class web experience designed and optimized to engage prospects and customers and integrated across CRM
  • Create digital marketing programs across target customer segments using best of breed data-driven techniques
  • Utilize predictive analytics to uncover and engage high propensity target accounts
  • Provide direction to and management of vendor/agency relationships for optimal results
  • Evolve marketing technology stack to position MongoDB to achieve future growth ambitions
  • Provide executive-level transparency to performance results in weekly, monthly and quarterly views
  • Stay on top of best practices, trends and technology and bring innovative solutions to address challenges
  • Build and mentor a world-class bench of marketing strength capable of significant growth and scaling

CORE TRAITS, EXPERIENCES AND QUALITIES

  • 12+ years marketing leadership experience in a high-growth B2B/B2D systems/SaaS/Enterprise software company
  • Emphasis on data-driven decision making with a strong operational, scientific and technical background
  • Proven expertise leading high-growth, global and modern demand generation teams, preferably with a combination of early stage and $1 billion+ in annual sales with hyper-growth customer acquisition strategies
  • Proven leader of people with a commitment to diversity and culture
  • Creative thinker who has built innovative platforms and programs that leverage best in class marketing technology and yield high funnel conversion
  • Team player and enthusiastic collaborator with others 
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, internally as well as with customers
  • Results-oriented marketing leader who can roll up their sleeves to get things done and loves to have some fun along the way!
