Who You Are

The Vice President of Marketing will be responsible for setting the strategic direction for the marketing organization and creating awareness for a new transformational category within the physical security SaaS sector. You will own the overall marketing budget and the key metrics to determine the profitability by channels, translating company objectives into marketing strategies that directly impact business outcomes. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the VP of Marketing will lead efforts to increase TAM and define and grow the addressable market for a category and a platform that has never existed before. This role is based in our Austin, Texas headquarters, but can also be remote. 

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the executive leadership team to drive the short and long-term strategic direction and critical initiatives, including developing Ontic’s go-to-market strategy and roadmap, identifying new market opportunities to expand TAM, building a new category and creating awareness, driving qualified leads to the sales organization and increasing market share
  • Establish long-term and short-term marketing roadmap and vision by leading quarterly and annual strategic marketing planning process, determining goals and priorities for the team, advocating for marketing within the business and ensuring alignment with overall company objectives
  • Develop a comprehensive marketing strategy with a strong focus on brand building, category creation, and optimizing a best-in-class, ABM-focused demand generation engine to educate the market, build credibility, create a sustainable competitive advantage and grow revenue
  • Lead the strategic development of ideal customer profiles, buyer personas, messaging frameworks and content strategy to position Ontic as a thought leader, ensuring alignment with Sales, Product, Success and Services
  • Be an expert at how we tell our story, ensuring consistent and impactful messaging across channels and overseeing the development of programs that reach and engage multiple personas throughout the enterprise buying journey
  • Build systems and processes to track and report on key performance metrics, and use this data to continually optimize marketing strategies and improve performance
  • Manage, inspire, and professionally develop a team of marketers across brand, demand generation, content marketing, partner marketing, public and analyst relations and events

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of B2B enterprise software or SaaS marketing experience, ideally with a high-performance technology company
  • Familiarity with category creation and working in an emerging market doing something that has never been done before
  • Experience developing and managing a marketing budget and optimizing spend across channels
  • Demonstrated capability in leading marketing teams in identifying priorities, challenges, opportunities, drivers and influencers
  • Analytical and results oriented. Must be willing to make quick decisions, test, and iterate to drive results
  • Experience recruiting, managing, and mentoring high-performance marketing teams
  • A strong self-starter who is willing to make their mark in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial organization
  • Strong verbal communication, proven team collaboration skills, and demonstrated leadership and influence abilities
  • Excellent presentation/advisory skills – clear, concise thinking and ability work well cross-functionally with the executive team and other team members
  • Strong project management skills – must be able to organize work in a methodical and rigorous manner; comfortable in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment
