Description
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Austin, TX or Detroit, MI three times a week, at minimum.
As a Mulesoft Software Engineer at General Motors, you will be an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, scalable way. As a core technology contributor, you will be responsible for designing and developing critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas to support the organization's business objectives.
Digital Products Engineering (DPE) Commerce enables commerce between General Motors, GM Dealers, and Consumers. From online vehicle shopping to service scheduling to buying parts, accessories, and digital experiences, DPE Commerce focuses on every phase of commerce.
Your primary responsibility is to build robust integrations and APIs using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, facilitating seamless connections between systems and applications to ensure efficient data flow across the enterprise. Your role will involve hands-on development and requires strong technical expertise. Effective communication skills are essential for engaging with stakeholders at various levels, as you will need to articulate complex technical details and manage project requirements. Your background should demonstrate extensive experience with the MuleSoft Platform, successful customer interactions, and a proven ability to innovate and solve complex integration challenges.
What You will Do:

  • Work in a fast-paced environment with business, technology, and designers to build new capabilities, platforms, features and improving existing capabilities.
  • Design, develop, and implement MuleSoft integrations and APIs to connect various applications, systems, and databases
  • Gather and analyze integration requirements from stakeholders and translate them into technical specifications and integration designs
  • Create and maintain MuleSoft integration flows, data mappings, and transformations
  • Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of integration projects
  • Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing for MuleSoft integrations
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on MuleSoft best practices and design principles
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to MuleSoft integrations
  • Stay updated with MuleSoft platform capabilities, new features, and best practices, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement


Additional Description
What you need:

  • 3-5 years' experience in MuleSoft development and implementation
  • Strong technical expertise in MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including Mule ESB, Anypoint Studio, DataWeave, API-led connectivity, and MuleSoft CloudHub
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, and other integration protocols and standards
  • Exposure to DataWeave for data transformation.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
