Lonely Planet’s Advertising Operations Manager oversees global ad operations and campaign management for a variety of digital products for the Lonely Planet brands. He/she will identify and/or develop solutions to support ad trafficking and targeting, paid media strategy and optimization, campaign performance reporting as well as billing and inventory optimization across all ad serving platforms (GAM display, native, email, paid social). The Manager will lead and mentor an Ad Ops Specialist, managing his/her day-to-day activities and priorities.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage trafficking & implementation processes in order to traffic, test, and maintain display, native, video and mobile advertising campaigns within Google Ad Manager.
  • Ensure quality assurance, review, test and schedule campaigns in one or several third-party ad server platforms as needed. 
  • Troubleshoot any ad creative issues that affect tracking, implementation, reporting or billing.
  • Implement paid media strategy to drive traffic and engagement for sold campaigns across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and other external traffic sources as needed.
  • Own monthly invoice reporting, coordinating with Finance and Account Management teams to streamline billing processes for sold digital campaigns.
  • Ensure campaigns deliver on pace and in full for revenue recognition and escalate issues with appropriate teams as needed. 
  • Work collaboratively with Account Managers to recommend campaign optimizations, leveraging understanding of advertiser and product performance.  
  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing & Creative Services teams to ensure ad ops and ad tech requirements are met for special projects.
  • Mentor and manage and AdOps Analyst, ensuring that work is of consistent, excellent quality.

What We're Looking For:

  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Ad serving/ad technology and analytics experience, including but not limited to Google Ad Manager (and other native/video/email ad servers), Operative.One or Boostr Order Management Systems, Moat & Adjuster reporting, paid media tactics, Facebook Advertising, Google Analytics
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with various teams, handling multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines under pressure
  • Strong working knowledge of advertising sales and operations workflow and infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of advertising campaign metrics and research technologies
  • Knowledge of HTML, Flash and JavaScript
