The Portfolio Management team sits at the center of the action, serving as leaders and collaborators with every function that serves the lifecycle of our investment products. We seek a highly motivated individual to play a key role in execution of portfolio optimization for our many investment vehicles invested in single-family rental (SFR) properties. We communicate with leading institutional investors daily and must articulate our strategy and performance well. We are subject matter experts in many areas of the firm – including venture strategy, asset management, debt optimization, cash management, financial reporting and performance, valuation, and valuation attribution. This high visibility team serves as the internal fiduciary for investors –working across all departments to ensure key messages, analysis, and strategy implementation result in optimal portfolio performance.
Partner with Accounting, Asset Management, and Investor Relations to report and interpret monthly financial performance across 25,000+ homes in multiple funds
Assist with the preparation of monthly financial packages and variance analysis against budget and prior periods
Develop, maintain, and improve complex investment and fund-level models, ensuring accuracy
Produce the annual budget and forward forecasts outlining performance for both cash flow and GAAP reporting
Provide scenario analysis on both past and future performance to inform investment decisions and optimize operational processes
Maintain, enhance, and design the reporting tool (Adaptive Insights)
Other duties assigned to ensure the proper functions of the team
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting, or Finance, CFA or CFA in progress a plus
2-3 years of experience in corporate finance/private equity/investment management, with prior exposure to residential real estate preferred
Mature knowledge of business modeling in Excel and ability
High potential individual, able to rise within the portfolio management organization or move into other roles within the company
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong verbal, quantitative, and written communication skills required
High standards of accuracy and precision; strong attention to detail; highly organized
Ability to work effectively under tight time constraints, and multi-task on various projects
Familiar with, or can quickly become familiar with, the company’s operations and strategy
Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills (Power Query, Power Pivot, and Power BI skills a plus)
Knowledge of reporting in Tableau and SQL/database structures a plus
Experience with structured ERP systems (Adaptive, Anaplan, etc) a plus
