Position Overview:
We have an exciting opportunity to support the rapid growth of our stores! Reporting to our Sr Director of Retail Operations, our Asset Protection Manager implements company-driven shortage and safety solutions while providing regular direction and leadership to minimize operational shortage, mitigate theft and fraud and maintain safe and secure environments for our stores and Home Office. This role combines the need for proven asset protection and operations experience with exceptional relationship-building and influencing skills to drive business results.
Responsibilities:
Asset Protection Operations:
• Assist with all HR-related investigations
• Provide associates and management with proactive training on emergency and crisis situations
• Conduct or direct interviews as needed for field and distribution center, Customer Care, and Home Office for asset protection-related matters
• Interact with federal, state and local authorities and government agencies as needed
• Assist with audits of operational, safety and asset protection procedures; implement process improvements as needed
Asset Protection Analytics and Execution
• Identify shortage risks through regular review of indicator reports; partner with store teams to develop action plans to address/minimize operational shortage
• Provide reporting to district and field leadership to assist with managing inventory cycle counts, as well as identifying and addressing internal and external loss
• Maintain retail chargebacks, reporting and remediation to the field
• Develop and implement a shrink program within top shrink stores including an on-site audit and remediation plan along with ongoing communication/training
• Identify exceptions or trends through data mining of POS information through KWI, Oracle, Retail Next and other systems
• Manage external theft reports including filing reports with local enforcement and tracking cases
Asset Protection Program Development and Management:
• Provide general asset protection guidance and best practices for reducing loss for topics such as: launch of a new product category, major change in SOP, new store layout, etc.
• Assist Retail Operations leadership team with development and implementation of impactful strategies, manuals, policies and procedures for asset protection and safety
• Manage, create, and assist with all asset protection training programs to improve margin, protect assets, and manage risk
• Control budget for travel, capital, and expense lines pertaining to asset protection programs
• Partner with field and distribution center to ensure loss and asset protection related policies/training are established, maintained and executed
• Build partnerships with the retail teams, cross-functional teams at Home Office and industry peers including local AP organizations and affiliates
• Assist with the planning, execution and reconciliation of inventory including full physical inventory
• In partnership with Finance and Procurement, monitor possible loss areas such as pcard spending, travel, etc.
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; LPQ certification preferred
• 7+ years’ experience in asset protection; 3+ years of multi-unit asset protection management experience in a retail environment preferred
• A proven ability to break down larger initiatives into consumable achievable tasks to achieve departmental and company objectives
• Ability to clearly articulate plans and ensure team is aligned
• A solutions-oriented mentality with a data driven approach
• Working knowledge of OSHA Regulations
• Working knowledge of the following operating systems and methods; Security and Fire hardware, such as CCTV, Burglar Systems, Fire Systems, EAS Systems
• Demonstrated experience and understanding of emergency response protocols and processes
• Working knowledge of financial reporting tools including Shrink, P/L Statements, Risk Assessments and Exception Reports
• Strong investigative skills/techniques
• Understanding of the criminal and civil justice system (e.g. local, state, federal, and regulatory, etc.)
• Understanding of product protection strategies
• Strong understanding of Retail Operations (POS, receiving, etc.)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
