Chief of Staff
SamCart creates beautiful one-page websites that showcase your products, convert visitors into customers, and increase the value of each purchase. SamCart is a web-based check out platform that features conversion-optimized checkout templates along with 1-click upsells, subscription and payment plan capabilities that are designed to maximize profits from every sale.
As Chief of Staff you’ll work with our Leadership Team and other operational leaders across the organization to run, scale, and operationalize the business more effectively. As Chief of Staff you will be involved in a variety of projects spanning all parts of SamCart including; internal initiatives, organizing and executing on OKR planning, and owning our recruiting, people, and culture initiatives. The position provides critical support for the leadership team and must embrace the breadth of responsibilities in a rapidly growing startup.
This is a great role for someone who wants to understand the breadth of how a business operates and scales, and who seeks to one day lead a function/P&L. This is an opportunity to roll your sleeves up, learn how to operate, and build from scratch.
SamCart is a venture backed and cash flow positive early stage startup, being comfortable navigating ambiguity in a startup environment is a must.
Key responsibilities:
Define, drive and improve operational processes across business initiatives
Organize and execute on OKR planning
Aggregate, evaluate and track functional vitals and KPIs
Organize and prioritize critical issues and information to facilitate effective, fast decision making for the CEO, COO and leadership team
Provide strategic research for leadership team
Ensure prioritization alignment across executive team
Assist in executive communications
Coordinate and drive effective cadence of functional operating meetings including Weekly Leadership Meetings, All Hands, and Quarterly Business Reviews
Undertake ad-hoc projects
Manage our office space across Austin and DC, and oversee office manager at opposite location.
Oversee employee recruitment and culture (managing culture planning, building new hire onboarding plans, running annual performance evaluations, helping with recruitment)
Project manage Board meeting prep and creation of Board meeting materials
We are looking for someone who:
4+ years working within a SaaS company and / or management consulting.
Ability to rapidly switch context and juggle projects.
Strong work ethic and pride of ownership.
Deep quantitative and analytical skills.
Excellent ability to communicate with executives and employees.
You know how to run a meeting, keep things moving, and get the outcome required.
Have a positive attitude and take feedback well. And will tell the leadership team when there’s a problem, even if the problem is the leadership team.
Figure out what to do when there isn’t a lot of direction, and still deliver an amazing result.
You’re amazing with the numbers, and can put together great presentations. You don’t mind being asked to write or present. You definitely could write a better job description than this one.
Organizational and process management skills to manage a wide range of incoming requests and responsibilities.
You’re trustworthy and can handle confidential information.
BA / BS Degree Required (MBA is a plus).
