Position Summary

This role is an exciting opportunity to lead clinical performance in a complex virtual care environment enabling clinicians to enhance their practice and provide the highest possible quality of care. We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who enjoys peer coaching and values quality improvement. This role will collaborate on clinical protocols, guidelines and will help support the Wheel clinician experience from clinician onboarding to ongoing development. This role has a strong focus on clinical performance, and will help serve as a conduit between the Wheel clinicians and internal Wheel teams. The role includes assessing clinical performance, providing constructive feedback to clinicians, identifying opportunities to improve clinical performance, and implementing solutions.


The Clinical Performance Lead will be working with a close-knit group of smart and passionate colleagues solving for the operational complexities associated with clinical quality and performance in virtual care. The ideal candidate will have the unique combination of a strong clinical background, mixed with experience in telehealth, teaching and leadership, and exhibit strong communication skills, a growth mindset, equitable judgement, attention to detail, and a highly collaborative work style. In addition to the Clinical Operations team, you’ll be collaborating closely with the Quality Assurance Committee, the Training team, the Marketplace Performance team, and the client Account Managers. This is a unique opportunity for someone who is driven to optimize processes to establish a best in class clinical quality performance organization. 


Responsibilities

- Clinical Quality Assurance Program: Identify opportunities to improve clinical performance at the individual and network level by performing chart audits, monitoring trends and implementing performance solutions 

- Performance: Provide thoughtful and effective feedback to clinicians through education and empowerment; coach and train clinicians through clinical quality performance issues

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner across multiple stakeholders, including Marketplace Operations, Training and Onboarding, Recruiting, and Operational Performance to support training content design, clinical process improvement, and clinical quality assurance. 

- Clinical Content Design: Design the safest and most efficient clinical intake forms and guidelines for Wheel’s clients while always putting the clinician first. 

- Wheel Clinical Ambassador: Serve as a thought-leader within the Wheel organization, sharing perspectives and insights with our broader Wheel Care Team. May include leading webinars, authorship of blog content, and more. 


Qualifications

- Clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant, active licensure required

- 3+ years of experience in telemedicine

- 5+ years in Clinical Operations, including peer precepting, teaching, or mentorship

- Demonstrated experience managing projects from inception to completion

- Proven ability to manage multiple competing projects while adhering to deadlines

- Experience managing a diverse workforce; from clinicians to operations managers

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate across the organization
