The rundown:

As a Desktop Support Technician you are responsible for the support of everything in the internal employee environment. This will involve installing, configuring, and troubleshooting all desktop, laptops, and client applications, including but not limited to the Microsoft Office suite, Windows and Mac computers and operating systems. You will support the administration of Active Directory user accounts and security groups, GPOs, Slack, Google Apps for Business, Telecommunication systems such as 8x8, LiveOps, NewVoiceMedia and Customer Relation Management systems, Salesforce and Whitepages.

You will:

  • Identify and procure the hardware and software needed to satisfy user requirements
  • Provide excellent customer service and support for the Austin office
  • Install and configure hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives on users premises. This includes Windows desktops, laptops and MacBooks
  • Build out new machines for end users, including appropriate operating system and software. This will include application and OS patching as necessary.
  • Provide updates, status, and completion information to manager and/or users
  • Connect users to networks and provide initial training in facilities and applications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic network connectivity issues as needed for LAN and WiFi connections, including networking components such as TCP/IP, DHCP & DNS
  • Administer Active Directory user accounts, security groups, and file share permissions
  • Support administration of 8x8 VOIP, LiveOps Call Center and New Voice Media systems
  • Administer Google Apps for Business and Slack
  • Deploy and monitor anti-virus applications, cylance, for spyware and malware on Windows and Mac devices. Schedule regular updates and scans, and clean adware from machines when needed
  • Maintain audio/video equipment and conference rooms, and assists users with basic conference room use
  • Schedule and run Company Wide and Customer facing events
  • Manage Help Desk ticket queue using Atlassian’s JIRA system, inventory and department SLAs

We are looking for someone with:

  • 1 to 3 years Windows or Mac OS X hardware and software support
  • Associate's degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience in a closely related field preferred.
  • Microsoft Office support experience
  • Gsuite support experience
  • Basic network troubleshooting & connectivity support, including foundational understanding of TCP/IP, VoiP, LAN and WiFi connections
  • VoiP technologies (8x8, Liveops, New Voice Media, Twilio a plus)
  • Experience managing workload with a ticketing system, including service orders and account information gathering
  • Software package building and deployment for Windows using SCCM and/or Mac OS X using the Casper Suite
  • Powershell and Python scripting skills desired, but not required
  • MCP, CCT/CCA, or ACTC Certification desired, but not required
