Overview of the role:

The Director of Business Operations will provide strategic input, project oversight, process improvement, and tactical execution of Reporting and Operations at Kazoo.  Reporting into Kazoo’s COO, the person in this role will work closely with the Executive Team (in particular, with VP Sales, CMO, CFO and Head of Customer Success) and will be primarily accountable for these strategic objectives:

  • Improve Go To Market effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Assist in formulation and execution of Go To Market growth strategies.

  • Drive accountability through reporting, analytics and data management.

  • Manage Sales platforms and tools to ensure tight integration with other functional area platforms to ensure consistency/comprehensiveness in reporting and analytics.

  • Provide change management leadership.

This individual will be focused on meeting the needs of a growing and dynamic Go To Market team by driving efficiencies and improvements.  A successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual that is detail-, process- and customer service-oriented.

 

The awesome stuff you'll do:

 

  • Sales Operations - Coordinate sales reporting, forecasting, planning, and budgeting. Proactively monitor and strive to maintain high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in the sales organization planning efforts. As needed, coordinate planning activities with other functions and stakeholders within the company. 

  • Marketing Operations - Partner with Marketing on forecasting and investment strategy; gearing expectations, etc. Assist with marketing results reporting by partnering with the digital marketing team to rationalize and maximize MarTech stack investments.

  • GTM strategy - Segmentation analysis and strategic prioritization/investment recommendations. Build, support & maintain account targeting strategy and implementation to optimize sales CAC and accelerate bookings growth

  • Revenue and Margin Optimization - Work in conjunction with Finance and optimize the pricing tools to meet the targeted sales objectives. Participate in analysis of competitive and economic landscape to evaluate threats or opportunities. Analyze current and historical results to identify actionable opportunities, develop ideas, and make recommendations to improve pricing performance at the customer, segment, and product level

  • Reporting and Compliance - Work closely with the Company’s Board Working Team to develop and implement best operational business practices. Assist with board material development as needed. 

  • Compensation Strategies - Develop and design sales incentive compensation structures and related quotas to meet company objectives. Support the equitable assignment of sales force quotas and ensures quotas are optimally allocated to all sales channels and resources. 

  • Sales Enablement and Optimization - Support and develop the sales training programs. Proactively identify opportunities for sales process improvements. Work closely with Sales to inspect sales process quality and prioritize opportunities for improvement. Implement enabling technologies and monitor the assigned sales organization’s compliance with required standards for maintaining CRM technology investment.

What you'll need to be successful:

 

  • Minimum five years of sales, marketing and/or financial senior management experience in a business-to-business sales environment. 

  • Minimum three years in a sales operations, business planning, or sales support management role.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; attention to detail; ability to determine trends and propose solutions

  • Significant experience with and success using Salesforce.com

  • Experience necessary to help formulate a vision and strategy for the Go To Market team, including an excellent understanding of standard business practices related to Sales Operations processes and systems (sales cycle, CRM applications, reporting, forecasting, territory management and sales quotas)

  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented, cross-departmental environment

  • Cross-functional business knowledge, especially in the areas of Finance and Professional Services

  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships both internally and externally

  • Desire and aptitude to constantly seek out problem areas and drive positive change

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable facilitating and leading classroom and live web-cast delivery 

  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and self-teach

  • Strong project management skills and training skills

  • Effective organizational and time management skills

  • Deadline-drive

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft or G Suite suite of products and deep experience with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or equivalent degree/experience
