    The Opportunity

    As a Director for the Cloud Engineering Core Services Team, you will lead a team of 40 people consisting of Managers, Systems, and DevOps Engineers. The team is responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and operating shared technical services and applications that underpin our customer facing services within the Adobe Experience Cloud. This role requires inspirational leadership, technical breadth and depth, and the ability to build cross-company relationships to effectively help convert great ideas into new products for our customers.

     

    What You’ll Do

    • Work with customers and service owners to develop a clear roadmap, design and validate the technical requirements with architects, and implement services with engineers and program management.
    • Be the primary employee champion for your team by developing, mentoring, and coaching a globally distributed, hard working team.
    • Deliver regular and consistent updates to senior and executive leadership on the status of multiple projects and their corresponding service level indicators.
    • Engage internal customers to understand their happiness with existing services and capture input for continuous improvement.
    • "Market and sell" new ideas and ways of reducing internal friction for engineering teams.
    • Manage operational and developmental costs to a budget, work with your team to optimize efficiency and service consumers to reduce waste.
    • Ensure services exceed security standards.

     

    What You Need to Succeed

    • "At-Scale" public and private infrastructure experience within a fast-growing, global, matrixed environment.
    • A combination of critical thinking and pragmatic delivery to yield the best short and long term results.
    • Experience with Agile methodology. Working within and coordinating scrum teams, sprints, etc.
    • Experience with Linux based operating systems and associated open-source software.
    • Practiced experience with product management programs and techniques.
    • Direct experience leading large scale services like secrets/tokens, logging (Syslog, Splunk, etc..), DNS, Message Queuing (RabbitMQ, Kafka), LDAP, production environment access controls, or similar is helpful.
    • Holistic service delivery skills: service level management, observability instrumentation, problem remediation, and reporting.
    • Financial understanding: budgeting, forecasting, modeling, show-back/charge-back, and depreciation.
    • Excellent organization, presentation, and written skills. Ability to clearly communicate your vision to executive leadership and translate it to implementation for your team.
    • Minimum 10+ years of people leadership and management experience.
    • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
