Blackbaud is seeking a transformative leader to play an instrumental role in our journey to be a best-in-class organization optimized for our modern cloud solutions.  As a Director in Infrastructure Engineering & Cloud Operations, you’ll lead a team responsible for engineering innovative cloud based and physical infrastructure solutions across network, storage and compute with increasing reliability, scalability, supportability and security.  You’ll cultivate a high performing team and guide them in advancing their technical and engineering skills to meet the demands of rapidly evolving technologies.  And, you’ll relentlessly pursue opportunities to advance our operational effectiveness and increase customer satisfaction.

The Job: You will leverage your experience and savvy to lead our infrastructure teams in accelerating the migration of our existing workloads to the public cloud while sustaining a high level of performance across our existing systems and environments.  You’ll focus on quality and process, and advancing our automation and engineering capabilities, to deliver the highly scalable, reliable, secure and performant platform that will delight our customers.  We are looking for someone with a unique balance of technical depth and strong interpersonal skills, and a proven track record of growing leaders and developing new engineering capabilities within teams.  You’ll need to be innovative and adaptable and be able to lean into the details while keeping the big picture in sight.  Whatever the challenge, you’ll always be looking for ways we can do things better.

Key Roles/Responsibilities:

• Cultivate a diverse, high-performing team that develops, recognizes and retains the best people and challenges them to advance their technical and engineering skills to meet the demands of rapidly evolving technologies and to transition from physical to cloud based infrastructure.
• Partner with key stakeholders to establish technical direction and derive innovative solutions to engineer reliable, scalable, supportable and secure solutions for our customers.
• Lead teams in strategic and tactical planning and in predictably and efficiently delivering on our commitments within assigned responsibilities (network, storage, computer).
• Direct daily 24/7 operations of the team; enforcing priorities, monitoring and analyzing operational effectiveness metrics and ensuring problems are identified and solved quickly and efficiently.
• Navigate and contribute to the intersection of engineering and operations, driving automation to increase efficiency and reliability.
• Plan and manage infrastructure budget to ensure expenditure is in line.
• Effectively plan and manage vendor engagements to expand our workforce capacity as needed.
• Foster a culture that leverages metrics to make informed decisions and guide change.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology or equivalent related work experience required.
• Minimum of 15 years or more relevant professional experience
• Minimum of 10 years of infrastructure leadership supporting large and complex 24x7 environments
• Expert level infrastructure experience spanning network, storage and compute
• Minimum of 5 years in the implementation of cloud technologies preferred
• Experience establishing and managing vendor relationships required
• Experience working with large and geographically distributed teams required
• Practical experience with ITIL required; lean and agile methodologies preferred
• Available on a 24x7x365 basis when needed for production impacting incidents or key customer events
