Responsibilities Include:

  • Overseeing and implementing all facets of the development process including planning, design, entitlement, construction and delivery of finished lots

  • Oversees preparation of plats and plans, supervises the bid process for construction contractors

  • Secures approvals for development and construction with federal, state, and local jurisdiction officials

  • Assist with the underwriting and due diligence process for projects in the acquisition pipeline

  • Establish relationships with developers, home builders, contractors, consultants and approving governing authorities

  • Prepare trade specific scopes of work, bid package, and construction contracts

  • Ensure completion of land development improvements for bond reductions and release

  • This position must ensure timely and accurate design and installation of all land development improvements including but not limited to grading operations, water and sewer services, dry utilities, paving and sidewalks, hardscapes and landscape and landscape improvements including entrance and amenity features

  • Responsible for the preparation of entitlement and land development budgets

  • Providing leadership and mentoring for less experienced team members

  • Recruiting and performance evaluation of direct reports

  • On-site safety program inspections and reviews

  • Other duties as assigned

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Civil Engineering, Planning or Construction Management required

  • 8+ years of senior-level experience acquiring and developing land for production home builders

  • A strong background in raw land entitlement and development

  • Knowledge of the local land market to include experience developing relationships and presenting to local landowners, civic officials, zoning officials, etc would be a strong benefit

  • Demonstrating good judgment and decision-making skills are necessities for this position

  • Excellent organizational, leadership and customer service/satisfaction philosophy

  • Excellent computer skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products and scheduling software.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to set, manage and consistently meet goals and deadlines

  • Must be proactive, self-directed, highly motivated, and able to multi-task

  • A strong work ethic. attention to detail
